College Bowl Playoff System

16 Teams . . . 4 Games . . . 1 Champion

Some would argue that a 4 game playoff would mean too many games.  Then Cut the season to 10 Games and only the Championship game will force the two teams to play a 14th game.

First of all EVERY conference MUST have a conference Championship!  Notre Dame must be in a conference. If it helps them, put them in C-USA then they woud be guaranteed a bowl birth every year thus making them happy.

Each of the Major Conferences (SEC, ACC, Big East, Pac 10, Big 10, and Big 12 will be guaranteed 2 Teams in the NEW Tournament.  The Mid Majors will be given 2 teams  (The highets ranking Mid Major Teams), and there will be an additional 2 At Large teams which can be selected from ANY of the conferences based upon final BSBCS Style rankings.

Following the end of the Conference championships, the top 16 teams will be seeded according to the current BSBCS System.

But what about the team on the bubble which gets left out.  In my book, no one gets left out unless you are ranked #33 in the country!  An NIT tournament will be created for teams ranked 17 through 32.  Thus all of the "Bowl" games will be guaranteed to continue to exist.

The bottom line, everyone would be happy.  There would be at least 30 bowls every year for everyone to watch.  .  . There would be no more than 13 games total for all teams except for the finalists, and the top 32 teams are guaranteed a bowl.
