What bothers me most about this witch hunt? Not that it "seems" to be an east coast issue. Not that big name players are the real targets. Not that this is not even addressing the issue of kids doing the "roids". But the fact that "We The People*" have much more important things to do than worry about some #### ballplayers who took drugs. I lived in New York City most of my life(Brooklyn) until joining the military, and always believed that poverty and homelessness were inner city problems. After all when I went on vacation with my family I really never saw it anywhere else, at least not to the prevelance that it is in the inner city. Then I moved to my first "Military Town". Now there won't be more poor people there because well heck there's a lot less, but the stories of the families that are poor are the same. The same with the homeless Veterans in that town. Yep that town has a VFW like every other that all you have to do is spend a little cash to be a member, but the Vets(often Vietman era some earlier), have no place to send their pension monies to because they are homeless. And if you're homeless you cannot recieve a pension check. Now we're not talking guys who were junkies while they were in, some of these men retired from the military, fell on hard times and got jerked over by a system that cares more about JUNKIES in baseball than they do men that sacrificed their lives so they can play a GAME, for millions of dollars while they made slightly more than minimum wage. Granted some will say don't expect to become rich if you join the military, and I'll say to that you're right. Most of us join because it's the right thing to do. Now we have another "Vietnam" on our hands young guys and girls coming back missing something. Whether it be a body part or a part of the brain that cannot fully process all of what they've seen. And they too will be forgotten just lke the servicemen a women in Vietnam, Desert Storm 1, and even the Civil servants from the 9-11 disaster. But let us worry about "Bobble Head Barry*" Miguel "Juicy" Tejada*, BIg(Mac) "Andro" McGwire* or any of these guys who don't care about the fans because they play a game for a living. Congress* you're doing a hell of a job with my tax money and you have earned your asterisk. What's next a probe into why the only thing black in the NHL is the puck? Why isn't there a bigger deal when the NFL players do it? Shawn Merriman? Suspended for 4 games last season and is now the cover athlete for a video game(NFL Tour) that is officially licensed by the NFL. And aren't video games like these marketed to the younger kids? Great message do "roids" get video game cover. Why isn't the NBA looked into further as they have quite a few "violated the league rules on banned substances" almost every month? You know why Amemrica? There are quite a few but I'll only share one. Our Congressmen* are like kids in school they take vacation most of the year (they call them "breaks in between session*") and when they do come in they're helping the gym teacher (this Commitee* on baseballs drug policy*), so they can get out of doing classwork. We've got Iraq, poverty, homelssness, and online predators just to name a few, and we're worried about baseball*? I'm scared for the future. I'm scared for my little girl that I have to eventually answer these questions to. Truth is America we've got to be the role model for the little people. We The People the teachers, police officers, servicemen, fireman, doctors, lawyers, the guy that works at the deli, us the "real" people of this land we need to be role models. If not what else is left?
