Your opinion is yours as well as my opinion is mine.

Before I start, I want to say that I know this website does not keep me or other bloggers from writing whatever we feel like writing.

I like reading opinions on different things, that's one of my favorite parts of this site.  However, I know that my political knowledge is not great.  I've tried to argue on political topics but realize that I just don't know enough of the "facts" or at least some sort of information for me to make a strong point.  I've been shot down in discussions and I have no problem with being wrong, as long as my opponent can convince me that his information and evidence is better than mine.

With that said, I am going to continue to say that I personally believe you should be able to write political blogs on this site.  However, there is a catch.  I don't think you should be allowed to include all sorts of sports categories to lure in potential readers.  I think that it's stupid and a childish way for people to notice your article.  What most of you don't understand is that the ones doing this are already established bloggers.  They write particularly well and if I could write like that, I would be looking into a new career field.

I know what you're going to say, "But Rec, if you don't want to read them, then don't read them."  It's not that simple, when people are category spamming and including everything they can into their post, then it's going to be in all the categories we like to read when we log on.

People want to always talk about George Bush. I don't know what he does in office.  I will admit it honestly and truthfully.  I will say this, I don't mind him.  I don't think he's done a horrible job.  To everyone that hates him, let me ask you this; Do you think John Kerry would've one any better?  I don't think so.  I don't think we should switch leaders during the middle of a war, but like I said, I don't have all the information to prove what I say.  It's how I feel, and I don't think I need proof to back it up.  I think that my life has been good while Dubya was in office.  True, 9/11 is going to go down as a tragedy on the scale of Pearl Harbor, but I just don't know if it would've been avoided.  You guys can argue with me about this all you want, I'm not going to have the ability to prove how I feel.  It's just something that I feel, that's all.  I'm working 40 hours a week, playing recreational softball a couple times a week, and trying to get my stuff together for my next semester at school, I just don't have the time to catch up on these things.  No offense to any of you here, but I just think that a blog is not the best source of news for me.

This post is not meant to single anyone out.  It's just an idea I sat down to write about and just let my fingers do the talking.  I'll say it again, if you want to write about politics, go ahead.  Just don't categorize it with my baseball and football.  That's my only gripe about political discussions here.  People are gonna read what you write.  You don't have to trick them into your blog by placing it in the category with sports.  Sports and politics do not belong together, period.

So there's my rant for the week.  Hopefully I have no need to do another anytime soon.

You guys be good.

Rec Out.
