There are a few things that are ok in moderation. Going out on Sunday before a work week in moderation is ok. Going to a Poison concert in moderation is ok. Drinking in moderation is ok. Eating mozzarella sticks and buffalo wings right before bed in moderation is ok(not really). Now if you do like I did last night though, and do all previous events in one evening...you dont feel to well on Monday morning. Any of you ever been there? A long Sunday night followed by a tough Monday? It has happened to a lot of us.
This leads me to a few monday thoughts that I have on my mind, since I am not the most productive today.
First of all, according to insidehoops.com, my beloved nuggets are going to trade to get JR Smith, who was just traded to the Bulls. They are giving up a washed up howard eisly and 2 2nd round draft picks. I guess since second round draft picks are a #### shoot, this is probably a good trade. JR Smith is still a young pup, with a chance to improve and be a solid contributor off the bench.
Second of all, did I mention it was nice to see I am losing my shirt on Frontier Airlines stock? Not so much fun to see after a long Sunday evening.
Thirdly...not that NBA summer league matters, but the nuggets came in second, with only one loss, yet they dont get a player on the Vegas Summer League All star Team (first or second team).
Fourthly, after a promissing first half of the season, the Rockies are coming into their own be going on an impressive 0-7 streak. For once, Colorado's starting pitching is holding their own, only to have the BP come in and mess it all up. I have mentally prepared myself for the second half collapse we have become accustomed to here in Denver. Still hanging on to that Wild Card berth from many, many years a go.
Five, i was watching HBO the other day and they had a special on the Juice, OJ SImpson. They showed footage of his USC days, and it looked just like Reggie Bush. OJ was a stud in college, but unfortunately, this was before my time.
Six, does anyone watch the NFL channel and catch the "making the cheerleader" show? Damn good stuff, my favorite is the Miami girls.
Unlike some of the other bloggers out there who are putting together intelligent, political and high brow blogs, I am merely hung over and throwing some words out there to the sports blogging nation. Today leads me to ask the rest of you though, what do you do at work on Monday after a long weekend and having a hang over? What is the best monday morning hangover story you have Me? I just have a completely meaningless post about some completely random thoughts.
I used to work at a bank and would sleep at the drive-thru on Mondays, great times.
I hope the Bulls don't trade Smith, he is only 20 with a chance to be a good contributor off their bench.
It should be interesting...He definitely has potential. I don't know why he went into byron Scotts Dogghouse, but before that he was having some nice 20 point games. He likes to run and he is athletic, so I think he will fit in well here in Denver.
I am a former NCAA Div I athete/has-be en and I have decided to try to take a swing at using this blog give my views on many a sports issue. I was raised and currently reside in Denver, so I am sure my bias will show. Being new to the blogosphere, I will try to not embarass myself.. I am just looking to settle every argument I have ever had in my local sports bar. Since the good 'ol playing days, I have taken a desk job and gained 40 pounds, so let's see if I can throw some wieght behind my words.
