Thoughts on Edwards looks to mend fences at Roush

A response to Edwards looks to mend fences at Roush

If you all look at the team owners, you'll see a lot of similarities in the way that some of the drivers mirror them. Roush has never been the politically correct example that he could expect his drivers to be. Now that Mark Martin has left the fold, the stability, maturity and class has pretty well left with him. Roush's style has always been more adversarial and less PC than most other owners. You would never hear a Joe Gibbs or Rick Hendrick speak without first carefully choosing their words. Roush speaks his mind and deals with the fallout later. This creates a trickle down affect. The only team member close to taking over where Mark Martin left off was Matt Kenseth. But frustration and lack of good finishes have caused him to resort to the brutish behavior that you'd expect from a Tony Stewart. The problem, for Matt is, he just can't back it up with out some sheet metal and a rollcage wrapped around him. Hendricks drivers, even Kyle Bush, of late, have stepped up big time and learned to close their mouths, or at least think before inserting their foot. It's a tough lesson to learn and pill to ####. We haven't seen the worst that the Roush organization can dish out. The problem is, one of the title contenders is going to get splattered when the #### hits the fan. With the next few races at higher speed venues, I hope that some innocent driver doesn't get hurt when this all comes to a head. And I refer more to physical injury as opposed to damaging title hopes. Atlanta is no place to even the score. Neither is Texas. Tighten up the belts real good and make sure that head and neck restraint is properly fastened guys. This is gonna be one helluva ride to the title. Peace...
