Last Month  I wrote about my concerns about the quarterback Controversy we faced  in Cardinal land. 

 After 2 regular season games under our belt, and heading into some real tough road games, I feel pretty good about how we looked out there the last 2 games..
What do you all think about our new Running back duo?  Or our 2 Wide Receivers?

I think we will do pretty good…Hopefully we can sneak into the playoffs..

Well, Coach Wise has announced that Warner will be starting the Season,  I have had to step back and reflect on the total, well thought out aspect of the

Quarterback controversy.  First of all, I took an outrageous approach to thinking how the offensive linemen might be thinking about this QB Problem..
I can see the total contrast in how each quarterback could be seen through the eyes of the Cards Offensive linemen or for the whole team for that fact.  

First, Warner is a proven well rounded Quarterback with experience, MVP? And Super Bowl under his belt.. So he most likely has proven his camaraderie skills with his offensive line. His attitude is superb considering that he is in the middle of a nationwide spotlight for this QB controversy.  He is seems to be a family man, calm, kool, collective and always very considerate of  what he says on and off the field.  On the other hand, he has also shown he is getting older as his fumbles, sacks, injuries and such have proven.  Yet for now he seems to be the most valuable QB for the Cardinals.. I still stick to this.
 
    Then, you see Matt, a young unproven NFL Quarterback who is struggling against a proven well respected Veteran with major credentials to his name..Not to

mention a class act, when it comes to not capitalizing on Matt’s shortcomings in front of the media.  What does not help is that Matt was on a pedestal when coming

right out of college, not knowing that the NFL is way way different than College..
 
1st year, of course he has to patiently see how the Cards offense works. Not seeing much playing time, as he is a rookie. 
 
2nd year,  he is thrown into this vicious unforgiving  position of having to prove to all that he is worth the mega bucks he is getting paid… Well then comes what every young brash hollywood style kid would do.. Not take playing seriously,  hanging out with teen hollywood stars, friends, Beer Bonging it, Partying.. Well it did not play well with his offensive line and Team Veterans and lots of us fans…
 
 3rd Year,  Matt is expected to come off a previous year of a major injury and perform like he has been in the league for  3 years…  WOW .. did we set him up for failure?  Sadly, I think so…Not only does he really really not have any NFL Experience, we have fed him to the wolves immediately when he performs horribly on his Pregame starts.  

Coach Wise is a coach and a Very Good one, because unlike us unforgiving fans who have not had a winning hand with the Cards, coach Wise sees the potential that Matt has..
 
I am just not sure if the Offensive line can willlingly work with a young brash PARTY MENTALITY kid to try and guide them into post season play and eventually the big dance… I wonder what goes thru an offensive Line’s mind when  having  Kurt  taking charge and when having Matt in the drivers seat?  Does it affect their ability to effectively give it their all?
 

Well,  We all know that Kurt is an all around class act, and Matt is a young gun, who maybe just maybe might prove us all wrong someday…. Problem is, do we as Cards fans wait patiently on who comes out running thru the gates with the Team, ready to give it the best they got ?   Or is it the same ol Cards with the same old story of what ifs….
 
 I was ticked off with Matt during the Raiders game, but then again Kurt  had fumbled the ball in the little time he was in there… our 3rd stringer did very well, I was excited for him…I just hope our 3 amigos (Kurt, Matt, coach Wise) can scheme up something worth watching for our Beloved Cardinals this Season

Does Leinart even command the respect of his teammates let alone his coach ? He seems to forget the NFL is a far cry from what he did in college with the USC Trojans. And not everyone there in Arizona is prepared to kiss a#s like they did in California.  And until he gets that fact into his thick head. Then he ought to apply himself to his profession and stop coming off as a whinin' primadonna.     justan' aka tophatal .......

I think Leinart's party image has been overblown,and by all accounts he did work very hard in the off-season. Regarding the preseason, he really only had one bad half. Granted, it was a horrible one at that, and besides that he was average to slightly above. But as you mentioned, Warner didn't exactly light it up in that game or the other game he played, either. Bottom line is, the Cards will need both, as very few QBs nowadays make it through an entire season unscathed, especially Warner at his age. I think the Cards can win with either, as I am of the opinion that barring a rash of major injuries, their defense will be stellar this year. All things considered, I'd start Warner in the opener, but I'm not giving up on Leinart yet.

Warner as you have said above is all true, the only thing is Kurt is at his best on timming pass play offence, if he has to wait at all he is not a well rounded QB. He is bad if he has to throw on the run and he sometimes forces it. He picked the forcing the passes with the mighty offence of the Rams. Didn't matter if he had a few INT's I have not follow the Cards of late and it will come down to if that offense can over come a few bad ones and like Ricko said his bones are older so I exspect him to force it more at times then getting hit. I don't know why he doesn't just throw it away at that moment. IMO.  I do like Kurt don't get me wrong, he finaly took my Rams to the big show and won it.

In the NFL, it's about NOW. Put Kurt on the field if he's seen as the one who cah help win.

Starting Warner is the best decision to make. If you start Matt he's going to have the butterflies again on opening day and have a low production if not horrible start and put the team in a hole for the first half. If Warner starts he is going to know he has to fight to start the next week. If he fumbles and stumbles Matt will be in a very good position to come in and save the day and finally shake himself of an old demon that has been on his heels the last couple seasons. Good job Wizz you made the best decision. Warner is either going to come out and prove he is worth another 3 year deal for starting pay or he is going to get hurt either way it is a good thing.

The fact that it even comes to this tells you all you need to know about Leinart. What can you expect....he got coached by a man notorious for being a Nothing in the Pros. And now look at White, Bush, and Matt whole lotta underachievment there.    Keep Warner, as Leinart is too busy trying to nail chicks instead of playing football.

Yeah, After the San Francisco Game, You seem to have a better grasp on how wise was thinking when he went with Warner.. Good Call Coach Wise !

A famous soccer coach ( Ernst Happel) once said " never change a winning team " . THat's why coach Wise should stick with Warner until he blows one. Making Leinart work his #### off while being the " back - up " is the best possible incentive to make the kid hungrier and hence better. I don't see a controversy at all here. The best man should play but both should be ready to play when called upon. Preseason and last season showed me that Warner is still the better QB at this point.

I have been an Arizona Cardinals fan since they moved here to Arizona...

It has been tough year after year - then looking forward to the following year..

There killing me man !  hahha..  It was a hard transition from Rooting and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, then having to change allegiance to the Cardinals... 

But after all is said and done.. I am still stuck to the tube watcing them break my heart...dont get me wrong, I love watching them, it just sucks that we lose so much...

As usual,  I think this year we will do pretty good..hell, I was all excited we had won so many games last year.. jajaj..

Regardless,  Die Hard Fan here... Go Cards !
