This is it!! Manning and his acolytes are going to their first Superbowl. First, let me congratulate Colts' fans and stepfans for sticking to the team thru the end. Let me also salute my son for demonstrating this enduring faith that Colts is going to win in spite of having been trailed by 18 points at the half. Let me specially genuflex to Hoit, Vearl, Miracle and other fellow bloggers for not flinching under dire demoralizing analysis of prognosticators before today's game.
The chief reason of this post is here we are with two AFRICAN AMERICAN COACHES facing each other for their first time in the ONCE UPON A TIME opportunity to shine in Football Hall of Fame. For instance, Lovie Smith, the lowest paid NFL coach (1.37M) in his 3 out of 4 year contract, is able to take the Chicago Bears to the pinnacle. Tony Dungy also deserves to go to Disney World although he was told he will never be able to go to Superbowl in his lifetime. Peyton Manning at the last minute of the game with head down seemed for a moment, believed that the Superbowl word was a chimere, a misnomer until the ball was intercepted by Marlin Jackson to finally seal the Colts victory vs Patriots. A familiar talkative Manning who abruptly became speechless and bashful. That is very telling.
Now that the route to Florida is not a dream anymore for these two black coaches, it remains to be seen how the NFL organization perception towards black coaches is going to be...I hate injecting race into this debate as sports is supposed to be immune to this kind of issue..Wrong!! One has to be very naive to think that way..All broadcasters agree this is a premiere to have two African American coaches going to Superbowl at the same time is unheard of...Yes!! I heard that before...in several other unusual circumstances...Education, Politics,Art,Ministry, NASA(science), to name a few not to mention the unthinkable BARACK OBAMA as the first African American President..WINK!!! WINK!! Yeah!! right!
On February 4, 2007, Florida will be the P.Manning's time, Dungy and Smith's moment in this nation sports history but the two black coaches will add a SOUL quality to it....mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, black eyes peas, sweet potatoes, corn bread, collar green, greens, spinach, home made salad etc..etc..these two black coaches will add their stamp to a bigger than life game regardless who will win the 41st Superbowl two weeks from now or to be more colorful the 1st SOULBOWL....Amen!!
In the meantime, let a youngster like this one, who has perhaps no clue what type of history is in the making after this game, enjoys the Colts' victory in the here & now...
My son is currently on the verge of going nuts...he definitely believes with that come back (18 points behind) Colts is going to be an excruciating headache for the Bears...The horseshoes are coming to town..Beware!!
Folks!! That's it for now...The floor is open for debate or for dispute...
Congrats! Vearl!! Yes!! the Superbowl is around the corner..I call it SOULBOWL because it is a BLACK thing from a coaching viewpoint.Who is going to win? I do not know..Only God knows like last evening most of Colts fans threw the towel from the start to the break. As far as me, it doesn't matter, this is a SOULBOWL.....
Yes! Sir!! Sorry I am late.. I was watching Denver vs Memphis..Carmelo and AI are together..Time will tell if they can superform ensemble.
Yes! Hoit!! My home theater is enough to handle everybody. My 60'1080p Sony HDTV will be better than perching to a 7th row balcony with Binoculars of a Florida stadium. We can still enjoy the game thru Cyberspace.

Thanks Former88 for commenting..You are correct..D-Fence will be the key in this game but most observers seem to bet on these Bears with a ferocious RB Thomas Jones and with an URLACHER who seems to be determined to make history on 2/04/2007.

Hoit!!Instead of buying a Colts' jersey,my son has decided to buy a designer cake...a Football cake with COLTS SUPERBOWL XLI WINNER LOGO in the perimeter and #18/#33 on the extremities. The deal was for me to eat 25% of it.It was delicious!!!I have already read many of your recent posts even though I did not comment...
