Forty eight hours from now the RCA Dome ( Indiana) will be the location where the AFC WILDCARD will be disputed. The actors KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (9-7) vs. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (12-4).
I dedicated this post to my son ( current avatar) who has been a COLTS' fan ever since he entered the World of Sports. We are living in the Washington Metropolitain area but his passion for sports has nothing to do with that zone. His basketball team PHOENIX SUNS, his football team Indianapolis COLTS as I mentioned earlier. He has even unsuccessfully tried to go to the Verizon Center to see WIZARDS playing wearing a Colts jersey..or a Suns jersey..Risky idea...to say the least..
One more oddity, his bedroom is full of Fathead of Peyton Manning, (against whom regular writers on this blogland are utterly aware of my discontent) Nash sandwiched with Michael Jordan. I have not heard him said anything about the Nationals or the Capitals yet.......

The Colts can be a good team...but they aren't playing very inspired defense. I think they need to work on that in the off-season, and they will be just fine. But until they do, it will be difficult for them to march through the playoffs.
As for Peyton Manning, I think that he is probably the best pure passer in the league. It's unfortunate that he's been labeled by fans as a "choke artist".

Colts 24-17. True the Colts can't stop LJ. But I don't see the Chiefs defense stopping the Colts offense either. The Colts are 8-0 at home too, and they beat KC on the road in a playoff game in 2003 when chiefs had Priest Holmes.
Then again, I live 10 minutes away from the RCA Dome, so take my comments as being a little in favor of Indy.

The Chiefs have one good player in LJ, if he is able to pass the ball to TG they may have a chance. Trent Green should be a backup somewhere, he would be a solid backup but he will never win the big game for your team. (Now that I've said that they will win it all and Green will be Superbowl MVP)
Then again, Happy Feet can't win the big game either.
The winner of this game will get their collective #### handed to them next week.
My son said he totally agreed with Shooter and Miracle's take on Colts defense which he considers as the Colts'weak spot exploited by Cowboys and JAX.He also agreed with Vearl and Hoit that time will be SHOW TIME..they should have learned their lesson by now...As far as me, my team is gone(SNIKSDER)thus I will be a passive spectator tomorrow.
papipoul-never been called a connoiseur before, excellent! As far as the Colts being in the wildcard, they weren't there dominating self this year like last year. But it didn't do them a lot of good to have a bye and rest their players last year. Maybe staying in that mode will help them with a hopeful Super Bowl run. You gotta believe!
38-17 COLTS is my son most recent prediction for tomorrow . Larry Johnson will be kept at bay and frustration will be beneficial for Peyton and Al.Most of the TD will be the product of interceptions ( he continues to opine).Let's wait and see!!...
He added that Harrisson and Joseph ADDAI will be relentless on the field and unstoppable..Again!! lets not get carried away yet...AWAITING the game on NBC 4:30PM ET..

Yes!! Sir!! WE do not call anyone as connoiseur. We can readily sense that you know your stuff enough and the fact you are living nearby the RCA Dome is definitely a PLUS..which made us proud to stick that label on you.
papipoul-I wish connoiseur fit on a license plate. Anyway, if you get the top 2 seeds in either the NFC or the AFC you don't have to play this weekend. Last year the Colts were so far ahead, that they had already clinched a bye spot and rested their players. That's why it took them until the 4th quarter to get going against the Steelers. That's just my opinion though.
Hoit!! thank you for your input. According to my son understanding of the WILDCARD concept: A team like Colts which has a good record should not be in the Wilcard which happens to be case with KC (9-7).
Now that COLTS pass the KC test,it remains to be seen if they can take one game at a time. Ravens by all account is a whole different story, a wild bird with the best defense in the NFL along with Chargers.Today 23-8 Colts next week it could be the other way around.

Papipoul-Let's get back to the wildcard. Tell your son he has plenty of time to learn about this, no pressure to know so much at such a young age.
I'm not an NFL expert, but at least I know this.
The Colts with a 12-4 record had to play the Chiefs with a 9-7 record because........In the AFC Conference the San Diego Chargers finished 14-2. The Baltimore Ravens finished 13-3. Those 2 got bye weeks this week as a reward because they had the best record in the AFC Conference. After that the #3 seed 12-4 Colts played the 9-7 Chiefs who are the #6 seed. They have the Colts as the best team without a bye, and the Chiefs as the worst team without a bye. In the other game the #4 New England Patriots 12-4 record played the #5 New York Jets with a 10-6 record. ( Colts get #3 over Patriots because they beat them this year. )
Basically tell your son the 2 top teams in each conference get a bye because of their record. It just so happened this year the 12-4 Colts record was only third best in their conference, therefore they had to beat the Chiefs!
