Most of us seem to be aware of the type of staunched rivalry that exist between Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys but nobody i.e. noone seems to be paying attention to what is going on between Baltimore Ravens and Washington Redskins. That fierce competition, for keen observers, goes beyond the football phenomenon.
To flashback these two stories, to put this post into contextual perspective and to help football fans relive these periods, I am going to use two excerpts 1) from NFL papers and 2) from Washington times..from their respective website:
Hey Papi, I think its just like the Niners and Raiders out here they just don't play each other enough, but they sure try to steal each others fans, and you don't find to many that like both teams, I'm a Niners fan and I hate the raiders and I live in Sacramento which is closer to the raiders, if they wanted a rivalry they would put the teams in the same division, see ya!!
Well said..Vearl.but this rivalry between Ravens and Redskins has been dormant for too long. Except for few insider reporters, the vast majority of fans doesn't know anything about it.Hey!! Thanks for stopping by..Vearl..
I read things very quickly sometimes, but so what are you trying to say, that the rivalry is alot deeper than just to franchises, one being the darling Balt. or one being consistently #### because of a weird owner, or what the local Governments don't get along or the fans hate each otherLOL
Unfortunately Redskins is mathematically eliminated from the playoff while Ravens finished second in the NFC East but we'll catch up with them next season as Jason Campbell will mature enough down the stretch.Vearl! Talking about getting along how far do you think the KINGS is going to take you this season because our WIZARD has been on fire for awhile with Gilbert Arenas 60 points vs. Lakers and 50 vs. Phoenix.
My Kings seem to be in disaray about half the time, while your Wizards look very good, you have nice ball players in Arena, Butler, and Jamison. I hope the Kings make a big trade soon to shake the chemistry up a little otherwise we won't make the playoffs, your team their looks like they will be a top 3 or 4 team, I like the wizards chances I think the have grown well together!! Take care!!
That sounds like a similar situation that exist between the Nationals and Oriels. The Oriels didn’t want another team moving into the area for fear of loosing attendance numbers.
Good afternoon everyone..It is 12:13PM ET. This is my last vacation day..will go back to work tomorrow.
HEY!! Happy New Year 2007 Miracle..What happens to Dr Phil? Is that a new year resolution: brand new year brand new avatar? As long as your name has not changed that's fine with me..Yeah! the animosity between Redskins and Ravens' owners has nothing to do with FANS..It is mostly a Dollar & Sense dispute and/or territorial.Thank you for stopping by..
Vearl!! Yes! Bibby and Ron Artest need some help particularly in the periphery. Most people thought with Chris Webber's departure and Artest's arrival Sacramento would be in a better playoff mode..you are right! management needs rethinking next season strategy.
Thanks for commenting and stopping by, FP!!I agree that Redskins vs Cowboys rivalry is an all time great in the NFL arena but REDSKINS vs. RAVENS is a nasty one.
