Rudy Fernandez coming to Portland!
Jun 07, 2008 | 9:42PM | report this

Rudy Fernandez is planning on playing for the Blazers next season.   Check out this video on YoutubeRudy looks like he's the Spanish Pistol Pete.  I predict he will be in the running for Rookie of the Year, and 6th Man of the Year, next season.  He should fit in well with the up and coming, exciting nucleus of Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Oden, and Travis Outlaw.  Everybody will get a chance to watch him play, when the Blazers make the playoffs.  I suspect they'll have many televised games, since GO will finally be playing.  I'm psyched for another season of Trail Blazer basketball, and Rudy making his debut.  He dominated overseas, now to see what he can do against the best talent in the world.  I expect him to have an Ichiro-esque impact in his first season in the league

Go Blazers!

I expect the Blazers to battle the Lakers and Hornets for Western Conference supremacy. They'll be loaded. An already brutally good conference just got that much better.

I think Oden will need a king size bib cause he is going to be drooling all over himself when he sees this video and imagines being on the receiving end of those alley oop passes. The Blazers should be one of the most improved teams in the league next year (again).

Let's hope he doesn't have the same horrific field goal percentage as Pete Maravich.
Speaking of Pete Maravich, when he was in high school at Raleigh Broughton his Dad Press was the head coach of NC State. The Portland headcoach, Nate McMillan, is a graduate of NC State.

So McMillan and Pistol Pete are related? Rudy Fernandez is going to be crazy good next year.

Rudy is the Rose City's version of Manu Ginobli. How is it that Portland is this good at building a team? As a fan, I simply cannot wait for tonights draft and next season. The youngest team in the NBA is maturing way too quickly. I agree with Jon464 regarding contention next year. I work out at Club Sport across the street from the Blazers Practice Facility and Oden is looking AWESOME!

Me too! I have been anticipating tonight's draft since the playoffs started. I'm wearing my Oden shirt today, "Oden in '08 Worth the Wait". Hopefully symbolic of another great draft.
