The game has only two minutes to go and the Lakers lose bigtime. Fisher pulled a no show, Sasha no showed, Vlad and Pau shot under .500. Not much chance of winning even though Kobe has 30 on 13 of 23 at the moment.
The refs have given the Spurs every home call possible but that's to be expected.
What shouldn't be expected is Lamar Odom tanking like he always does after a good game or two in a row. He started out shooting 1-7 and 1-4 free throws when the Lakers were still close and could have helped establish dominance on the road. Instead he prefered to tank.
For a guy making nearly 15 million a year on a team overloaded with salary I think if the Lakers end up blowing this series Odom will be gone and Artest replaces him. Odom is just pathetic under pressure.
You can look up the final stats yourself. I'm sick to the stomach. What a loser. You suck Odom.
The Lakers were out of rythmn and much of their plays were anticipated by the Spurs. San Antonio came to the game much prepared not like game 1 & 2. The Big 3 of the Spurs played magnicificently that includes those coming off the bench. No excuses, they play hard more than the Lakeshow. Congratz Spurs and to Spurcse.
The Lakers will be back next game and they must prepare hard for it.

Odom reminds me somewhat of former Kings' PF Chris Webber. A supremely gifted athlete and player. But when it's time to get tough and to get going. Then he becomes something of a 'no show' .
As to tonight's victory I for one am glad that the Spurs were able to resurrect their postseason.
It's just a rumour that he's in the witness protection program . There's no truth to it at all.

I'm sure all Spurs fans are happy Tophatal as they should be.
You couldn't be more right about Odom. He is another Chris Webber. Does great when the team is doing good but he's slipping out the back alley door if anyone dares ask him to EARN his superstar money.

See my post on Bill Belichick. Let me know what you think as to the merits of the piece ? I'll look forward to reading your comments. The piece is titled Bill Belichick Is Now In The Employ of The NSA ..!
There have been rumors of Artest coming to L.A. and Odom leaving because Odom costs more than twice what Artest would cost. I'm in favor of it providing Bynum's knee is Ok. With Bynum and Gasol rebounding we wouldn't miss Odom and Artest may not be the nicest guy around but he wouldn't wimp out half the time like Odom. You can't count on Odom EVER to step up and play big. He only has big numbers when the team is doing well as a whole. If others struggle Odom struggles. All kobe needed tonight was Odom to step up in the absence of Fisher and Pau for most the game. Then Kobe's 4quarter wouldn't have gone to waste. But as usual when it's on him Odom disappears. I'd take my chances on Artest for half the money. Not as many rebounds but more defense and more scoring. And the Lakers would have the money to keep Ariza and Sasha.

You don't need that vulpine inside the Lakers' organization. That'd be like spreading a pandemic disease in a tiny village. And if Kupchak were insane enough to do it. Who'd you want to see the Lakers giving up for him ?
This ought to be a none starter right off the bat !
Have a great Memorial Day alongside your family !
On the outskirts of Baghdad a soldier salutes the flag on Memorial Day in May of 2007.
Not being a Laker fan, I really don't know the subtle ends and outs of the choice of player to blame, but I really have to wonder why you seem to give Fisher and Sasha a pass for not showing up and lay the entire blame on Odem. Of course in the post game interview with Craig Sager, Odem also took all the blame on himself, so maybe you are right.
Sasha and Fisher are not making half of what Odom makes all by himself.
Tony Parker has abused Fisher for years. This was expected and should have been compensated for by now. How do you compensate for someone making nearly 15 million a year not showing up?
Rampant I don't know what the answer is but I know that the Lakers can't afford to give Kobe the max extension, Pay Gasol, keep Sasha and Ariz, Walton and Vlad have over 5 million each contracts. We're already losing Turiaf and Bynum is up for his first real contact. Odom will go. So better to get someone who has some conjones than another softie.
Well I will tell you the same thing I told everyone else..... here it is
Dear God, I understand every team has a bad day. Lets just make game 3 for the Lakers that bad game and I pray the rest of the team shows up to help Kobe on Tuesday. AMEN
Well Mr. NiqueDodson if what you say is true maybe Odom is expendable. I like the toughness he brings to nearly half the games he plays but when he cannot even make free throws in a game like this I find myself loosing years of my life while watching him. Lets see what happens being Champs can have a wierd turn on a team. Sometimes people come to work for less to get that ring other teams are dismantled quickly. The Lakers rarely have what professionals refer to as a "Rebuilding Year" so as usual I trust they will make the right decisions and maybe Kobe will have something to say?!? He shouldn't have something to say but who knows?
Sriously, why should Kobe not have anything to say? MJ had plenty to say. He went nuts when Oakley was traded, he had something to say about every move the Bulls made and he fought with the GM and Owner ever step of the way. Why should Kobe be any different?
Lamar, Lamar, Lamar...what an enigma! The guy will play at an all-star level for awhile and then disappear. He doesn't play well as the 1st or 2nd option, but tends to thrive as the 3rd option, as long as the Lakers are playing well as a team.
This was his best year as a Laker, I just wish his game mentality matched his physical tools.
