Meadowlands Masacre
Nov 25, 2007 | 7:03PM | report this
How about some more inconsistency on the part of the Vikes. That team I watched today should win the next four games. The team that played at Lambeau might win two of the next four. It was beautiful hearing the crickets in New York today. Viking fans don't forget the 44 goose NFC Championship debacle. We have worn home plenty of butt kickings at the hand of the Giants. In the mean time, there is hope in Vikingland again. That only means that it's just a matter of time before us diehard fans are slapped in the face again and back in treatment. Hey, SKOL Vikes anyway! Out of curiosity, does Eli have more touchdown passes to the Vikes than Tavaris?

Minnesota is sports hell!
Nov 22, 2007 | 7:26PM | report this
Hunter with the Angels. Carl Pohlad is determined to break the "can't take it with you" rule. Now that his new stadium has broken ground he is going to slash the payroll. Santana is just a week or two away from joining a contender. Terry Ryan's best move was no longer the Liriano, Nathan, Bonser trade, but jumping off the sinking ship. Congrats Terry! KG is going off in Boston. Moss is washed up in New England. We sit at the dinner table with our hot dish and talk about our pathetic professional sports teams. Cold winters and support groups for sports fans. Hey Carl do you need some more tax money? McHale are you done paying off whatever it is you owe to Ainge? There is a glimpse of hope with the Wild. The Wild is the only Minnesota franchise that knows how to run a professional sports team. So I will hang on to Gaborik's groin (not literally Schuch) and dream of Lord Stanley. In the mean time I will have another Grain Belt.

America's Team
Sep 02, 2006 | 9:59PM | report this
In today's world of professional sports it is a delight to come home from 10 hours at the hospital and watch the Minnesota Twins.  The Twins organization should be the envy of professional sports.  They are run by a class front office and a blue collar manager.  Guys that aren't team players don't stick around to run their mouths.  You don't hear the term "cancer" in the clubhouse.  Players that show up early on an MRI are shown the door rather quickly.  Ask Kyle Lohse or Todd Walker.  I would lose any ounce of credibility if I told tou here and now that the Twins are better off without Big Papi.  Ortiz should thank the Twins for hid Beantown move.  Ortiz has done very well hitting around the likes of Manny, Varitek and Damon.  Terry Ryan more than made up for letting go of Ortiz when he made the AJ to San Fran trade. The AL wild card has turned into a two team race.  The Twins have had one bad break after another yet remain 1/2 game back from Guillen's fellas.  With or without apost season berth this wil be one of the greatest summers of baseball in Minnesota since, "We''ll see you tomorrow night!"  Check your local listings.  Grab a Grain Belt out of the beer fridge and watch Americ'a Team.

SKOL Vikings
Aug 14, 2006 | 7:44PM | report this
Its preseason game 1 and time for a few observations.  First and foremost, I'm elated to see Childress on the sideline and not our beloved pencil wearing, red flag throwing, hero.  I liked the energy of the defense tonight.  The linebackers showed promise.  The Vikes are in the fourth quarter and are +2 on turnovers and have 3 penalties for 20 yards.  Chester Taylor showed a few nice moves at running back.  Daunte Culpepper  didn't fumble or send any emails.  I know I'm a never die Vikes fan, but I like what I saw tonight.  It will be nice, for a change, to match class on the sidelines.  How about 10-6 this year?  SKOL VIKES!  By the way, check out my posting on the Twins when they were 10 under .500.  Now we're right in the mix.  How do you like me know.  In the words of Ricky Bobby, "That just happened!"

Wild Spending Spree
Jul 10, 2006 | 8:50PM | report this
There might be a professional sports team in Minnesota worth watching in 2006-07.  The Wild are having a solid offseason.  Signing Gaborik was huge.  Oh, I'm sorry did you think I was talking about the Wolves?  LETS PLAY HOCKEY!

Mauer
Jun 08, 2006 | 6:56PM | report this

Joe Mauer's average is .379 after today's victory over the Mariners.  The Twins record isn't impressive, but with Liriano, Santana and Mauer there is still plenty to watch.  Of course, we couldn't watch the game today because it wasn't on TV.  How do you not televise a game that Santana is pitching?  We'll be at the Dome tomorrow night to watch Radke against Baltimore.  Hopefully the Twins will continue their good play at home.

It's already evident that Childress and Wilf are going to run a class operation.  I hate to sound too much like Sid, but you have to be excited about the new Vikes.  Training camp only about a month away baby!

Cy Liriano
May 26, 2006 | 8:58PM | report this

Six more strikeouts for Liriano tonight.  ERA now 2.51.  The man is sick.  The future is bright.  How about sitting outside for the home opener 2010 watching Cy Young Francisco throw to AL batting champ Joe Mauer?  Hey touch em all Twins fans.
