Where is the Respect???
Oct 23, 2007 | 2:11PM | report this

Now grant it before Sunday the Seahawks did not deserve any respect. A trip to Pittsburgh was meaningless as we did not even show up and were outscored 21-0 and then we come home to face the winless Saints and again get humilated this time on our home turf. I was so embaressed I could not find the courage to write a post as I do most weeks about the Hawks.

I don't know about the rest of you but I check out the Power Rankings each week and I was amazed to find that Seattle dropped 4 spots to #20 in the league after a dominating performance over the winless Rams. This puts the Hawks behind many not so promising teams.

Now a couple of things are certain in Seattle.

1. Nate Burleson seems to be worth every penny he was signed for when he decides to put his heart in the game. When he is horrible, he is horrible. When he is on, look out NFL.

2. Shaun Alexander a deserving inductee in the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton and The Seahawks Ring of Honor needs to decide if he truly wants to continue playing football at this level. Right now if I was Holmgren I would bench Shaun and start Mo Morris. Shauns heart is just not in the game anymore.

3. Matt needs more protection, he is off to a great start this year, while it may not be at Tom Brady's level (a god in the NFL right now) he is posting a respectable 90.0+ rating at last glance.

This bye week should be interesting, we head into it 4-3 with a one game lead in the division. Hopefully Holmgren can regain his posture and not make some ludicrious calls as he has of late and he works the hell out of the Hawks weaknesses.

We should win the West this year as St. Louis and San Fran have basically called it a season and Arizona is the only one in contention with a ####ed up QB, though they were quite impressive last week against Arizona.

What are your thoughts? What does Seattle need to to do to regain it's form??

Seahawks Review
Oct 08, 2007 | 3:02PM | report this

What the hell happened Sunday?

Statistically the Steelers and Seahawks were very close, the Steelers had the upper hand on a few things, but with the absense of Hines Ward and a couple Pro-Bowl defense players should have tilted the advantage in favor of the Hawks.

What we do know is that:

1. The Seahawks D was left on the field WAY too long. I am impressed with our defense holding the Steelers to only 21 points considering that they were on the field the whole day.

2. We lost Branch, but that is not an excuse, we have several weapons that we could have gone to and they were just blanketed by Pittsburgh.

3. What in the hell is going on with Shaun?? I am almost tempted to see what is trade value is out there and get someone who can perform.

Now we have the next 4 of 5 games at Quest where we are almost unbeatable. We will eventually win the division, the 49ers are faltering, the Rams plain stink, and the Cards just lost their starting QB.

Give me and all the fans out there what you think we can do to make this season one that resembles 2005.

Go Hawks

NFC West Review
Oct 02, 2007 | 8:28AM | report this

Wow, needless to say this has been a rollercoaster of a ride through 4 games this season. Time to see where the teams stand as we passed the 1/4 mark.

St. Louis Rams: Many "experts" were picking the Bulger/Jackson led offense to win the NFC West in 2007. Talk about eating crow, at 0-4 the Rams are more than likely focused on getting the #1 pick in the draft than competing for the playoffs. It does not get easier as they have games with Arizona, Baltimore, and Seattle the next three weeks. If they are lucky they will pick up 1 win of those three, but most likely start the season 1-6.

Arizona Cardinals: The NFL's storied "cursed" team....well they may be turning things around in the desert.  Impressive wins over Seattle and Pittsburgh leave Arizona a team to fear, especially with the two quarterback system they are implying with Kurt Warner and Matt Leinart. Games against St. Louis, Carolina, and Washington could leave this team at 5-2 and in hunt for the NFC West crown and playoff contention.

San Francisco 49ers: I wish I could quit hearing from the 49er fans who always want to mention their five Super Bowl Championsjips (last which was over a decade ago). This is 2007 and they are not the team we expected. Their two wins (against Arizona and St. Louis) were less than impressive and could have gone either way. Now their defense has been more impressive, it is their offense that will keep this team to below .500 for the rest of the season. Next three games against the Ravens, Giants, and Saints will probably leave this team at 3-4.

Seattle Seahawks: A muffed handoff aside this team would be 4-0 with a two game lead in the division, instead they are 3-1 with a 1 game lead. Impressive on both ends of the ball last week and they dismantled the 49ers. Seattle in looking like the team of 2005 en route to the Super Bowl. They do have competition this year (not New Orleans or Chicgo as anticipated) , rather Dallas and Green Bay ( whoa is it the 90s again???) Who knows mabye the NFC is poised to make a comeback. Next thee games are against the Steelers (a long awaited Super Bowl rematch), New Orleans, and St. Louis. If Seattle can win all three (the toughest challenge will be Pittsburgh) they would have their best start at 6-1 with a stranglehold on the NFC West.

ABOUT ME

NationTraveler78
I am a native of the Pacific Northwest. My Grandfather was a very small minority owner of the Seahawks and even owned the land the original Kingdome was built on, he sold his portion to the Nordstrom family in 1979. With that being said I was born a fan and was less than a two weeks old when I went to my first Hawks game on Dec. 3rd 1978 when the Hawks played the Browns. As a kid my family moved to Arizona where things changed in sports, becoming a Phoenix sports fan is bittersweet, just like being a Seattle fan. Combined the two cities have two championships
. 1979 Sonics and 2001 Diamondbacks.
I am now living in SoCal with my wife and two children, with one little future Seahawk on the way.
Time stamping is done in Pacific Time.
