Playoff Predictions
Jul 07, 2008 | 2:23PM | report this

A frequent blogger on my posts Dwindy asked me to go out on a limb and do the playoff predictions for the upcoming season.

While I am not a huge fan in playoff predictions let me throw out a few things, first off I am biased, a true blue Seahawk fan, secondly the season has not started yet so my predictions will be based off the "perfect world" and "the teams tendacy".

NFC Predictions:

In the East, I belive the Cowboys will come out on top again this year with a similar record, the Giants had a fairy tale season last year and I will expect them to be either 3rd or 4th in the division. There will be one wild card from this division and I am going out on a limb to say that the Skins will hit double digit victories this season.

Cowboys and Redskins in the East

Back to the unapprecaited West I am a firm believer that the Hawks will win their division by at least three games. There will not be a wil card team coming out of here.

Seahawks in the West

In the North the Vikings will reign supreme, no other team will challenge them for the top spot, though I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that the Bears will pick up the last spot for the wild card.

Vikings and Bears in the North

South has a whole other feeling to it. I am picking the Saints to win their division, though they will be challenged by the Bucs.

Saints in the South

Breakdown:

1. Cowboys

2. Seahawks

3. Vikings

4. Redskins

5. Saints

6. Bears

Cowboys and Seattle take the 1 & 2 spot for the first round bye. Chicago travels to Minnesota and Skins travel to New Orleans.

Chicago loses to Minnesota by 10 points, AP does damage on the ground and has the Bears doubting their defensive skills.

Skins win on the road in New Orleans. Jim Zorn is showing the league that he is indeed a great coach.

NEXT ROUND.......

Minnesota travels to Seattle to face the Hawks. Luckliy for the Hawks we have this game at home and a great defense to boot. Seattle handles AP and the Vikings and moves back to the NFC Championship Game.

Redskins go to the Big D, here is where I am going to #### off some Cowboy fans. Until Romo can prove he can win in the playoffs I am not a believer. Skins do what the Giants did last year and that is suprise the NFL.

NFC Championship....

Washington @ Seattle, this being Coachs last year the Hawks play their hearts out and walk off Quest Field winners of the NFC again!

That sounds good to me. I'm predicting a Panthers vs Seahawks showdown, but this would work too.

I see the playoffs going much different, first I would insert the Giants and Packers and remove the Redskins and Bears. The Giants are a more stable and complete team than the Redskins, plus with the bullseye off Eli's back I think that offense has the chance to become dynamic. The Packers are the 2nd most talented team in the NFC, and I don't expect much of a drop off at QB. Despite Brett Farve having one of his best statistical seasons last year I think he still was an average-above average QB. The Rdskins will probably be outgunned, and I'm not sold on Campbell. The Bears will not make the playoffs with that offense, no chance.

I will probably do a power rankings blog as soon as I can motivate my lazy #### to do one.

I agree with: Seahawks, Cowboys, and Saints. Redskins won't make the playoffs, but they'll be in contention. Bears?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! ROTFLMAO!! The Bears will be lucky to win four games this season. The Packers, even without #4, win the division because the Vikings have a sucky QB situation.

My two wild cards: Saints and Giants. Panthers win the NFC South and get home field throughout the playoffs and host Seattle for the NFC Championship.

Panthers win the NFC Championship and play the Chargers in SB 43. (A rematch from Week 1)

ABOUT ME

NationTraveler78
I am a native of the Pacific Northwest. My Grandfather was a very small minority owner of the Seahawks and even owned the land the original Kingdome was built on, he sold his portion to the Nordstrom family in 1979. With that being said I was born a fan and was less than a two weeks old when I went to my first Hawks game on Dec. 3rd 1978 when the Hawks played the Browns. As a kid my family moved to Arizona where things changed in sports, becoming a Phoenix sports fan is bittersweet, just like being a Seattle fan. Combined the two cities have two championships
. 1979 Sonics and 2001 Diamondbacks.
I am now living in SoCal with my wife and two children, with one little future Seahawk on the way.
Time stamping is done in Pacific Time.
