Conference Match-Ups
Dec 06, 2007 | 8:34AM | report this

I have been a little upset lately with the media concerning the NFC as the worst conference in the NFL.

I was thinking, what are the qualifying factors that determine who is weak and who is not.

A little evaluation:

AFC East (Patriots, Bills, Jets, and Dolphins)    21 Wins and 27 Losses

AFC North (Steelers, Browns, Bengals and Ravens)    24 Wins and 24 Losses

AFC South (Colts, Jaguars, Titans and Texans)    30 Wins and 18 Losses

AFC West (Chargers, Broncos, Raiders, and Chiefs)   20 Wins and 28 Losses

So it is obvious that the AFC South is the strongest divsion in the AFC with the AFC North coming in a distant second by 6 wins, the Almighty AFC East in thrid behind 9 wins, and bringing up the back the AFC West 10 wins out.

NFC East (Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, and Eagles)  29 Wins and 19 Losses

NFC North (Packers, Lions, Vikings, and Bears)   27 Wins and 21 Losses

NFC South (Bucs, Panthers, Saints, and Falcons)  21 Wins and 27 Losses

NFC West (Seahawks, Cardinals, 49ers, and Rams) 20 Wins and 28 Losses

Well as I am sure you can see, this goes in order. NFC two top divisions (the East and North) are only seperated by two wins while the bottom two are seperated by one.

The Tally:

AFC Record: 95 - 97 Record (BELOW .500)

NFC Record: 97 - 95 Record (OVER .500)

hmmmm........

Well the AFC has 24 Wins against the NFC this year, HOWEVER they also claim 26 losses.

IT IS TIME FOR THE MEDIA TO ADMIT THAT BOTH CONFERENCES ARE EVENLY MATCHED, AND THIS YEAR THE NFC HAS THE ADVANTAGE, OVERALL RECORD, AND HEAD TO HEAD.

ABOUT ME

NationTraveler78
I am a native of the Pacific Northwest. My Grandfather was a very small minority owner of the Seahawks and even owned the land the original Kingdome was built on, he sold his portion to the Nordstrom family in 1979. With that being said I was born a fan and was less than a two weeks old when I went to my first Hawks game on Dec. 3rd 1978 when the Hawks played the Browns. As a kid my family moved to Arizona where things changed in sports, becoming a Phoenix sports fan is bittersweet, just like being a Seattle fan. Combined the two cities have two championships
. 1979 Sonics and 2001 Diamondbacks.
I am now living in SoCal with my wife and two children, with one little future Seahawk on the way.
Time stamping is done in Pacific Time.
