What a game, too bad I missed most of it
Feb 04, 2008 | 7:03AM | report this

How clutch is David Tyree?  How didn't he get sacked on the Tyree catch?  What happened to Brady being Brady?  How did the Giants beat the Pats?

All these questions to be answered, right now.

David Tyree is the most clutch receiver in NFL history.  That catch he made during the Super Bowl was the best catch I have ever seen in the 20 years on this planet.  How does a person catch the ball with both hands then transfer it to his face?  Then, keep the ball from hitting the ground and having Rodney Harrisson clawing and attempting to wrestle the ball from him.  For a fourth receiver, he just got a huge pay-day based on one catch.

What happened at the beginning of the Tyree catch? How did Eli get away with 5 Patriots trying to tackle him as well as the feeling that he would be the goat if he was sacked on that play.

If Eli didn't keep fighting on that play, and went down, people in New York would be calling for his head, and saying he is not a tough quarterback.  Now he is an excellent quarterback and people will be saying he is better than Peyton.  Lets not get ahead of ourselves, Eli relied on that excellent Giants pass rush for most of the enitre game, and entire playoffs.  I give Eli all the respect in the world, but he has to succeed with a terrible defence before I will say he is better than Peyton.

What happened to Brady?  Blipp in the radar people.  Brady is still one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.  Today after he didn't do what he is known for, people will say he is an average quarteback or a system quarterback and not as good as he is.  He just didn't have the magic that he ormally has yesterday.  This only motivates him to become a much better quarterback.  Wait and see.

The Giants beat the Pats by getting a ton of pressure on Tom Brady that he had never seen before this game.  That defence pressured the offensive line and made them look ordinary.  Also Eli did played a little defence himself.  He kept the ball for an incrediblely long time.  When the opening dirve was 10 minutes long, I knew this was going to be a close game.  My Pats -11.5 bet went out the door in the first quarter.

I can admit I was wrong.  I said the Patriots would win and would cover.  My mistake.  I didn't give the Giants the respect they deserved.  They were a good team, but I thought the Pats would revert to the Week 4 Pats and score 50 points.  I was completely wrong.  Congrats to the Giants.

A fitting end to an excellent season.

Super Bowl Preview to the Preview to the Preview
Jan 20, 2008 | 8:05PM | report this

Time for a review of Championship weekend.

San Diego @ New England
The Patriots looked as good as ever in the second half.  That is an example of how good Bill Belichick is as a coach, and how many mile a head he is of every other coach in the NFL, maybe except for his mentor Bill Parcells.  The Pats looked shaky in the first half, then they made the necessary adjustments to win the game.  It didn't help that LaDainian Tomlinson was out for a major portion of the football game.  When he was out of the game, it spelled the end of the Chargers.  I wonder if Igor Olshansky knows who beat him on Sunday?

New York @ Green Bay
I didn't see much of the game, but from what I saw, the Giants just looked to good, and the Pack didn't look like they did against the Seahawks.  Brett, from what I saw didn't look like the Brett the had a renaissance this season, he looked like the Brett of years past.  Again I only saw the beginning and the last 10 minutes of the 4th quarter.  The Pack didn't do well this week what they did well last week.  They just looked very bad.  Too Bad, The wiley vetern vs. the new guard would have been a fun game to watch.  Now we watch Tom Brady vs Eli Manning aka Peyton's Little brother.  Looks like a good game.

Prediction to come within the next two weeks.

Who can stop the Patriots?
Nov 19, 2007 | 11:26AM | report this

The NFL has never seen an offense as potent as the current New England Patriots.  How can you stop such a juggernaut?  THIS JUST IN: YOU CAN'T!!!

I have been saying this for years with my friends, Tom Brady is the best quarterback in the NFL hands down.  Everyone has been telling me that Peyton Manning is the best quarterback because he owned the single season touchdown record and he is the best pure passer in the NFL.  Brady won three championships, with no-one playing at the skill positions, he didn't have Marvin Harrison or Reggie Wayne, Edgerin James, Joe Addai and Dallas Clark.  He had David Patten, Jabar Gaffney, Deion Branch, David Givens and Reche Caldwell.  Have we heard from these guys since they left New England because they though they were better than they are.  Not one.

Brady never had receivers until this year and now that he finally does, he is getting some love.  Now Manning has injuries and is using a depleted offense and he is struggleing, unlike Brady who consistently made receivers who wouldn't start in the CFL and turned them into champions.  I will say it again, Brady is better, 3-1, Nuff Said!!

I would love to have either one of these guys starting for my team, but if given the choice I would tkae Brady because he makes people around him better.  He finally has weapons and is obliterating the competition.  People will say it is all Belichick not taking his foot off the gas and running up the score, but Brady and his receivers still have to execute.  He is just better.

Both are good, but Brady is head and shoulders above Manning, this year.

Smoke Up Dolphin Fan, Pot Guy Ricky is back!!!
Nov 15, 2007 | 5:27PM | report this

With news of Ricky Williams being reinstated in the NFL, it is time for Dolphin fan to think about next year.  This is the guy that you are going to think is going to save you from running the table, in reverse.  Dolphin fan can not think that this is your saviour, this is the guy that left your franchise twisting in the wind when he retired then unretired when he realized he as going to be on the hook for 8 million plus dollars.

This is the guy that your new Head Coach in Cam Cameron is hanging is winless season so-far to hopefully rip a victory from the Bengals, the Ravens or the Jets.  Cam, nobosy remembers a 1-15 season, but people will remember 0-16, you will live in infamy.  You will be more famous than the 17-0 Dolphins, the Dolphins will own both records for best and worst record.

Dolphin fan, think of it this way, to take away the pain, you have got a source for the hippie lettuce, right in your own organization.

Now for my Picks: Guarantees in CAPS

NFL Gobbledy Gook
Nov 13, 2007 | 7:48AM | report this

Here is some Gobbledy #### for the NFL mind:

  1. Colts Fans, don't get worried about loseing two games in a row.  You have a ton of injuries in too many key positions like Left Tackle in Tony Ugoh, Number One Wide Receiver in Marvin Harrison, and a up and coming third Wide Receiver in Anthony Gonzalez.  Don't worry, you will be in the playoffs as the second seed in the AFC, but they will lose to the Pats again in the AFC championship game.
  2. Why does Big Ben Roelisthberger get absolutely no love when people discuss great quarterbacks currently playing in the NFL?  This guy has won a Super Bowl and won the first 14 regular season games he played and helped the Steelers go 15-1 in 2004.Okay so he play ping-pong with his head and a car windsheild, No body is perfect.  This guy is a great quarterback and is having a great season this year.  He is finally in the conversation as a top quarterback.  But still people chose not to see him as a top quarterback.  Is it because he plays in a run-first offense? He is a good quarterback in a conservative offense, but he deserves a little more credit than he is getting.
  3. How are some people picking the Bills to win this weekend.  The Sunday Night games is the Patriots coming off a bye against a Bills team who barely beat a bad Miami team.  The Pats are going undefeated  this year.  They are just to good, no one will beat them, and certainly not the Bills.  The Pats are going to stick it in the face of everyone in the NFL for thinking they cheated by taping defensive signals.  The Bills will not beat the Pats.

That all I know about the NFL...For Now.
