With the spread offense that coach Rich Rod has brought to Michigan, it will be interesting how Michigan does this season. Here are some of my predictions.

Quarterback situtation: I believe that Steve Threet will be the starting QB. He looked good in the spring game and he is starting to move a little faster. Michigan maybe will pull a situation like Chris Leak and Tebow, only with Threet and newcomer QB Justin Feagin.

Vs.   Michigan will be up against a very good Utah team in the season opener. This should be a very high scoring affair between the Blue and the Utes. But Rich Rod will have Michigan seeking revenge against Utah after Appalachian State.  Michigan 42-Utah 30

Vs. Michigan, comming off a big momentum victory, will have their first MAC competition off the season against Miami (OH). The Redhawks have a great linebacking core that could shut down the Michigan running attack. This could be a big test to see if Threet can be the leader of this football team.  Michigan 38-Miami (OH) 6

@  Michigan's first road game, and it is against the Fighting Irish. Many people so far have Notre Dame going to a bowl game, after their 3-9 2007. Jimmy Clausen is starting to mature into a college QB. Notre Dame is thinking revenge, but Michigan should hold off the Irish.  Michigan 31-Notre Dame 20

Vs.  When you hear the Badgers, what do you hear. Best Big Ten team, Rose Bowl, P.J. Hill. Yep, that is what you here. The Big Ten opener for Michigan is a team that Michigan is 1-2 the past 3 years against the Badgers, and 0-2 at Madison. Michigan needs to be good in all areas of offense in order to win. This will be close, but Michigan will gain the first quality win of the year.  Michigan 20-Wisconsin 17

 

Vs.  Many are saying that Illinois will have another break out year. Michigan's defense last year held Juice Williams 70 yards passing and 17 yards rushing. And what made it even worse, it was Saturday Night at Illinois. Michigan should keep Williams busy, while the offense should score points.  Michigan 21-Illinois 3

 

Vs.  Michigan will take a well needed rest against Toledo. Expect many other players playing in this game.  Michigan 40-Toledo 0

 

@  Michigan vs. Penn State is always a classic game. With both teams starting new QBs. If any Penn State fans are reading this, I am sorry to reveal, JOE PA CAN'T BEAT MICHIGAN!! 9 straight times Michigan has beaten PSU 9 straight times. And even though it is at Penn State, I expect 10 straight in another low scoring game.     Michigan 14-Penn State 13

 

Vs. The much hated Spartans come into Michigan looking for  revenge, I mean in 3 out of the last 4 years, Michigan State had a lead and lost. Michigan should have trouble defending the run, which could make this a game to remember for the Spartans. But the Michigan passing game has matured through out the year, and should help the Spartans lose.  Michigan 27-Michigan State 21

 

@ After a 48-21 blowout in Michigan, Purdue will be out for blood. Having a great QB section, Purdue should take an early lead. But Michigan should pull another 2007 game against Purdue.  Michigan 36-Purdue 20

 

@ I am sorry to admit Gopher fans, I don't think Minnesota will win more than 3 games next year. And my prediction should be obvious.  Michigan 31-Minnesota 0

 

Vs. Michigan final home game should be an easy one. Some of the second stringers should play.  Michigan: 37-Northwestern 10

 

@The Buckeyes will not be undefeated (hint USC, Penn State, Illinois) but they will be ranked pretty high. Chris Wells will probably have another 200 yard game , but that won't be enough against a spread team and Rich Rod. Upset City U.S.A.!                          Michigan 21-Ohio State 20
