Ok lets face facts.  This is nothing but a public hanging.  Its no suprise to me because the events in the media that led to this point clearly showed that something big was going to happen to Micheal Vick.  Someone was just letting the charges build up over a period of time.  If the indictment states that he has been involved in dog fighting since 2001, why did it take six years to arrest him.  This reminds me of seens from roots.  If  the slaves did not listen to there masters, they would be whipped, stripped of everything they owned and loved, and sold.  No one is looking at the type of environment Mike Vick grew up in.  The socio-economic conditions that African Americans have to survive in should be against the law.  Things like drug dealing,racial profiling, police brutality, dog fights, and violence go on everyday in America and no one is protesting these dreaded condtions that psychologically ruin African American males before they could reach puberty.  These are the things that Mike Vick experienced growing up.  Do you think that you can just turn it off when someone throws money in your face.  Its not that easy.  I grew up in that enviroment so I understand what was going through his mind.  He has a illness but did not know  it .  No one took the time to evaluate this addiction because the only thing that people was concerned about was him performing for the crowd on game day.  As long as you are performing for the people that control you, you are like a son, but as soon as you get in trouble, you are more like that sibling that everyone always critizes.  I am not saying that what he allegedly did was right but to strip him of everything that he has is wrong.  Get him some phsycological help.    Another thing that I dont understand is the protesters.  I like dogs myself but what about human beings.  Who protested for Amidu Diallo and Sean Bell when they were killed by police officers?  Who is protesting for Genarlow Wilson , Mycal Bell, and the Gena Six?  Who  is protesting about people and pets that were left to die after Hurricane Katrina? Who is protesting the mistreatment of African Americans? So while you are teaching your kids to hate Mike VIck because he killed dogs, you should teach them about there ancestors that lynched slaves and used dogs to attack African Americans during the Civil rights era and tell them about the injustice that African Americans have been dealing with for the last 400 years.  I bet you wont put that on your posters outside  the Virginia Courtroom, The Supreme Court, or any other public forum.
