Funny and true, although Cubs fans might disagree with you about the Wrigley part. Hey, at least Chicago has had some other winning teams during the Cubs drought. I'm originally from the Cleveland Area and I'm pretty sure that they've gone the longest of any city with franchises in all 3 major sports without any type of championship whatsoever.
Ask and Ye shall receive. Cards fan bashes Cubs, Cubs' fan prints T10 post and wipes rear end with it.
I hope more of the Cub Faithful read this post and realize how pathetic this organization is, and how much of it is true, including Wrigley. Cubs Park North (Miller Park) is a much better venue to see a Cubs home game.
TSI - hit in the head. You cannot pity us for Wrigley. There is NO better place to watch a baseball game: not the Playboy Mansion watching a game of shirts and skins... No where.
The other stuff, well yeah, its true, but why do you have to point it out? Do we not hurt enough?
I don't go to Tropicana Field and yell "Hey Devil Rays, you have no payroll!"
I pondered a mean post titled I'll never go to Wrigley. Though I'm embarrassed I've never been to a game there. This year I will go.
And though Northside is currently my best friend there is something I hold against a person when I find out they'e a cubs fan. It's a telling trait that I could try to put my finger on but it would come out way to mean. I had an '88 score rookie mark grace in a hard case. I recently gave it away to a cub sox fan.
You gave it away? Just GAVE it away? Since Banks and Santo, there has not been another consumate Cub, other than Grace.
That's hurts just to think about.
P.S. BFF, Wrigley will change your life. Sit in the Bleachers on a hot summer day and drink old style. You will come out a changed man. It is truly the Sistine Chapel of professional sports played in the U.S.
The dude I gave it to gets into a cubs uniform when he attends games. It was a gesture of friendship as well as a joke, like I didn't even want it. I paid about $35 bucks for it back in '90 and now it's valued at a couple bucks. Do you know that card? It's a sweet card. That dude moved up to your neighborhood and works with a band called 56 Hope Road. If you hear of them go check them out, Pinger will be selling t-shirts. Tell him Gerd sent you.
He lives downtown St.Louis and works as a steel pipe salesman. Matt grew up just accross the river in Illinois playing football, baseball, and basketball. He's a lifetime member of Cardinal Nation, Ram's fan, and all basketball fan. When the local teams are playing a meaningful game he's usually in attendance.
