This past year England failed to qualify for Euro 08 behind it lack of solid goalkeeping. A solid keeper has yet to emerge since the days of David Seamen. Time and time again, England's keepers let their country down whether it be spilling easily struck balls or completely wiffing over balls. Who does England turn to so they can avoid the Croatia mishap when it comes time for WC 2010 Qualifying? Here are some of the candidates and their 07/08 club statistics:
Possible Candidates are Robert Green, David James, Paul Robinson, Chris Kirkland, Scott Carson and Manuel Almunia.
I know Almunia is Spanish but there are talks that he might be able to attain English citizenship within the next year. Personally i believe Green should be chosen becuase although he plays on a very poor team, he is rather consistent. If not for Green West Ham would probably have to deal with the threat of relegation. If not Green than i think James has earned himself another shot. What do you think?
