Tim Wakefield, of the Boston Red Sox, is very overrated (and overpaid but most are) and if I was Theo Epstein I would try to trade him or release him. Lets look at his stats; In 534 games(2768 IP) he has only 6 shutouts he has allowed 2664 hits and 2821 runs(1322 were earned runs) In that 2664 hits 356 were homeruns. He has walked 1066 batters. His career ERA is 4.30. Batters have hit 547 doubles and 48 triples in his career. His career OPG is .327. His career SLG is .414 and his career OPS is .740.
His knuckle ball doesn't fool anyone. Sometimes when I watch him throw a knuckle ball in a clutch situation I feel bad for the rest of the team because you know the batter is gonna hit it. He is always hurt but still plays so the whole team can suffer too. Boston needs a better bullpen. It would be better if they got rid of Tim Wakefield.
