Lakers: Everybody is throwing around that Odom for Artest rumor and how the Lakers need defense and tenacity. Well I'm here to tell you that's not gonna happen. The Owners of the Kings (maloof brothers) aren't gonna trade with the hated lakers because they're still bitter over the slight rivalry that exsisted in the early 2000's. Though it doesn't exist anymore. So I propose an alternative . . . . . . Andrei Kerelinko! He's unhappy in Utah and would come without them having to give up Lamar Odom. A package of Luke Walton Chris Mihm and maybe a second round pick or two etc. should suffice. He doesn't bring that offensive mind set but is long and place very tough defense. The question then becomes does he start or come off the bench.
Pistons: The Pistons desperatley want to shake things up because Dumars knows this is as far as this unit can go. The most obvious choice is to trade Rasheed. Here's the problem they'd have to take a hit because they WILL NOT get equal value. If you need evidence just look at the Toronto deal. Are you telling me they gambeled on a Jermaine O'neal rather than a currently proven rasheed Wallace who has always been a solid all star caliber player with a small injury report as opposed to O'neal's rap sheet? No. You never no which rasheed will show up, the i don't care it's just another game, the whine about every obvious call, the I'm going to curse the ref. out and throw my head band him, or the firey rasheed that plays every minute with hustle. If they do trade Rasheed it won't be for a guard because hamilton, billups and stuckey have that covered. A small forward is unlikley do to Prince. So what piston fans are looking at in the best case senario is a young power forward/center. I think the most logical thing would be a package deal with the bulls and maybe send a tyrus thomas, Joakim Noah and a signed and traded Ben Gordon over with a few other pieces for salary sake.
Spurs/Magic: Ginobli should be traded for Hedo turkoglu straight up (salaries permitting) This trade would immediatley fill a need for both teams. The Magic would get a shooting guard/ small forward who can immediatley jump in and create for himself off the dribble. Something Reshard Lewis can't do. They also take pressure off of Howard as now double teams wouldgradualy start to cease as you have a guy who can take guys off the dribble if they play him to close or can burn them with a long range jumphot if they sag off of him. Ginobli also brings a much needed championship expierienced player to a team who very much could contend in the East but doesn't have guys who have been there to do it before. The Spurs get a young explosive guy who can put up 25 if needed consistantly. He's very clutch late in the game and much like what Ginobli would do for Howard Turkoglu would take pressure off of Duncan with his consistantly drain the three (something Tony Parker cannot do). Lastly it also brings the spurs youth which is something the Spurs DESPERATLEY need right now.
Dude your on crack they wouldnt take Mihm or Luke if they got them for free, and you want us to believe they want to pay Luke the 30 plus mill hes do over the next few years, and get some minutes out of Mihm who hasnt played in two years. COME ON lol. They would trade AK for Lamar but only because AK has a three years left at a similar price to Lamar's but Lamars comes off the books after this season. I personaly dont want either of em on the Lake show this year, but we may just have to live with Lamar for one more year.
There's no way in hell that the Spurs'd give up Ginobili for Turkoglu. Especially when you look and see that Hedo is the type of player that flits in and out of games with such consistency that it becomes exacerabting.
And suffice to say that nothing good'll come of the O'Neal trade from Indiana to Toronto. He still remains soft and'll be as much help to Bosh as a damp sponge is to leak in a basement.
As to the Odom scenario that's not the only problem with the Lakers. Has anyone thought to look at the coaching philosophy on display during the Finals ? 'cause as sure as hell I thought that Jackson was just making it up as he went along.
Rivers took his lunch , lunch box and all of his marbles in one swoop and made him look ordinary as a coach.

I'm inclined to agree with you as I for one don't have a great deal of confidence in the Lakers' front office . Especially where Kupchak is concerned. He's not that astute an assessor of talent by any stretch of the imagination. Though I feel that a lot of the time he's also playing second fiddle to Phil Jackson when it comes to the team's roster.
If he's not deferring to him then he's most certainly being told by the Buss's what he ought to be doing.
Just because Kirilenko is unhappy in Utah doesn't automatically make him less valuable to the Jazz franchise. You seem to believe that Jerry Sloan would jump up & down over Luke ( no skills ) Walton and Chris (slow as a turtle with asthma) Mihm, why?
Teams competing in the same division are especially careful not to trade with their rivals first of all, but damn sure not when it obviously won't benefit them to the demise of the other team, ( see Pau Gasol trade for example of what NOT to do ).
In that AK 47 deal i did say etc. so that means that walton and Mihm are interchangable. That could mean Mihm becomes Radmanovic and walton becomes a trevor ariza or a signed and traded sasha vujacic. The Jazz's hand is forced they need role players and it has become totally obvious to every basketball fan that he issn't ever gonna play his best in a Jazz uniform. If the Jazz don't do something with him this year then his trade value will further diminish after teams see him go through another sub-par season where he can't score and his softness shows. The Jazz need to cut their losses he isn't an all star any more he's a solid role player though who can help a team. So don't put the man on a pedestal anymore because he isn't worth as much as you guys seem to think!
The Pistons need to trade RASHEED WALLACE because he is the reason that we lose to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoff then we lose again in the NBA Finals to San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics. If the Pistons is go to trade Rasheed Wallace they need a Good trade that is going to help the Pistons in the long run. They need a Better Forward-Center then Rasheed Wallace.
Mdog1357 -- Magic/Spurs - Bro get off the crack pipe- Hedo already played a season in SA, they let him go because he couldn't hit shots when it counted. This trade would never happen!! Ginobili is untouchable in SA, more than Duncan. Used to live there, Ginobili will have his number retired in 2011 when he retires. End of story!!
Yea thats all the Lakers need. Another player who yells help! in a language the other four players don't understand as his opponent blows by him to the hoop. Just buy american!
" I propose an alternative... Andrei Kerelinko! He's unhappy in Utah and would come without them having to give up Lamar Odom"
And I suppose UTAH would love to help out the Lakers, a bitter rival that dates back to the eighties (before you were born so you wouldn't know the relevance) and has continued to this day. And don't you think UTAH is a little bit perturbed that Derek Fisher jumped ship and went back to the Lakers? There is NO WAY Utah will trade AK47 to L.A. No way.
And the excuse that the Maloofs wouldn't trade Artest to LA because they're "bitter" about the rivalry is flat out ridiculous. FYI, from a business man's standpoint (and I repeat BUSINESS MAN), there is no place for emotions in this game. It's all about what makes financial and business sense for the franchise. You'll know what I mean once you enter college and take a few business and finance courses.
As far as Sheed goes, there is a chance DET might deal him. But to their division rival Chicago? NO WAY. The Bulls are going young, why would they want to add Wallace, who has maybe two more solid years left in him? Why would they want to take on his attitude? Trust me, John Paxson is a no-bull-s-h-!-t type of guy. Wallace is the last player in the world he'd want considering the Bulls don't have a coach whom Rasheed would respect. Plus Paxson would never part with his two best young big men for someone who'd retire in 2011.
"Ginobli should be traded for Hedo turkoglu straight up (salaries permitting)"
This is the most ridiculous, ludicrous, and atrocious thing I've heard since hector was a pup. Why in God's name would Popovich, who is also the Spurs' GM, trade his best player for someone who shoots threes all day. Have your forgotten that the reason Pop likes Ginobili so much is his ability to create off the dribble, which is something Hedo barely does?
"Lastly...the spurs youth which is something the Spurs DESPERATLEY need right now."
Why do you think they brought in Ime Udoka and Roger Mason and why do you think they won't be resigning Horry? The Spurs will NEVER split up their big three. They know the formula. All they have to do is surround their core with solid young role players who are team players.
Dude, your trade scenarios make the recent blog I wrote on NBA trades look like an award-winning winning masterpiece.
