"We are still trying to adjust, we'll be fine" - Big Cactus
Feb 29, 2008 | 1:34PM | report this

I think i've heard that way too much from the "Big Cactus" lately. So it's only been 5 games since the "Diesel" joined the Suns and they are 2-3. So it's been a bit too early to start passing judgement. But lets take a look at what "Superman's" been averaging. In his first 5 games with the suns, he's been averaging a 53% FG shooting, 10.4 rebs, and 10.4 PTs. Wow! "The Big Aristotle" has been averaging double doubles! He's been contributing to the Suns, but yet they are still losing. Amare's numbers are up, and the "M.D.E ( Most Dominant Ever)" is contributing, so what's the problem? No Marion. They are missing the Matrix. He's the hustler. Rebounds, scoring, forcing To's. The Brazillian Blur's numbers are down since they acquired The "L.C.L ( Last Center Left)". In the first 6 games of Feb, he averaged 20 pts. The last five games, he only averages 14.2. Why is this? "Wilt Chamberneazy's" clogging up the paint, plain and simple. A big guy needs big attention. Ok, ok. He's old and is no longer the same as he used to be before, but defenders still need to show him the respect down low. The Brazillian blur loves cutting into the paint for his easy layups, but with defenders doubling up on Shaq, the paint is congested. I dont know what Suns need to do, but they need to do it fast. A few more losses and they can kiss their playoff hopes good bye. Gasol didn't need much time to gel. Their team chemistry is excellent! Just one thing I can say about acquiring Gasol, 12-1. Which actually should have been 13-0. Of the top eight teams in the west, they have the worst record versus the Western Conference. Lakers, of course, have the best record versus the west. If you wanna make it out of the Wild Wild West, you must beat the Wild Wild West teams. Either the trade for shaq wasn't what Kerr thought it'll turn out to be, or Shaq isn't the missing piece they needed for the Chip. Either way, they need to hurry it up or Shaq's new nickname could be "The Big Dud"

No longer the Diesel, but the 87 Unleaded Gasoline
Feb 06, 2008 | 4:02PM | report this

This is what it has come to. After picking up his fourth ring with the Heat, everything seems to be going downhill for him. Shaq has suffered nothing but injuries this season. He is no longer the Diesel that he called himself. All is left is just watered down 87 Unleaded.

What have been a great move for him to do is to be a man and stick with his team, and retire at the end of the season. But what does he do? He jumps ship and leaves behind D-Wade, the post Kobe guard.  So he was able to get one ring with Wade, and three with Kobe, but that was in the past, and he's not the same anymore. His numbers are at a record low across the board.  With his patented post up spin move not that affective anymore, what else does he have left, but the 325lb frame?

So Shaq is traded to the Suns today. Good move or bad move? The Suns are notorious for their running game. How will shaq fit in? The answer is very simple. He won't. While the ball's already at half court and Nash pushing it down, Shaq will be in the backcourt gasping for air. So this means the Suns have to change their technique to keep Shaq in the loop. This meaning no more run and gun Suns. What does this mean for the Sun's? A new begining. Doesn't mean that it's a bright begining. Good luck trying to rebuild with Shaq.

DJ Mbenga and Kwame Brown
Jan 22, 2008 | 10:16AM | report this

DJ Mbenga entered the game late in the fourth quarter for the first time as a Laker last night. Signed to a 10 day contract, he's there for the big body. With a depleated bench, Lakers needed help down low.

Mbenga looked very slow and sluggish running down court. At times, looked like he was struggling. On D, he attacked when someone came into the paint. With only 5 minutes of play, he had 2 block shots and two rebounds. Not too shabby. While taking two shots, none of them went in. Mbenga needs to improve on his speed. With his size and length he can be a bigger force down low when Kwame's in foul trouble or getting a breather.

Kwame Brown, who came off of a horrible night versus the Suns. Who can forget the 7 TO's. It was a nightmare watching him hold the ball. Last nights game versus the Nuggets, it was just a bit better. Playing 24 minutes with 7 pts and 11 rebs. On a play setup from Kobe, Kwame cut to the basket for a wide open assist from Kobe. The big Center was by himself but almost fumbled the ball while flying through the air. Instead of slamming it down with authority, Kwame layed it up. It would have brought the house down, but did you really expect more from him?

Kwame has a lot to work on. When selected #1 pick by MJ, he was supposed to be a great Center. He has been anything, but great. With his butterfinger hands and poor court awareness, he will need to put in overtime during practice. On many occasions, you can catch him standing around and spectating while people fly by him. On one play, Marcus Camby ran by him as he steps up and gets burnt. What does he do? Last resort, reach in. This does nothing as Camby goes straight to the basket for a reverse dunk.

Lakers Could Score Big with Kwame Brown
Jan 21, 2008 | 3:49PM | report this

Look what I found guys. Just a little something for you to read. Just a little article back in 2005.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8586424/

"They traded for the 23-year-old seven-footer, a former No. 1 overall draft pick of the Washington Wizards, because they could use a prototype power forward who can rebound like Kevin Garnett, defend like Karl Malone, score like Tim Duncan and be a perennial candidate for the NBA’s J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award.."

Wow, that was very high expectations. Wouldn't you say?

Man up Kwame! You already apologized. Show us you are really sorry and show some heart. Show us you want it bad. I know there's lots of other players out there who are dying for your $9 Million dollar opportunity. Tonight, show us at least 14 pts and 12 rebs and that's a start.

Send Kwame packing. Yes or no?
Jan 17, 2008 | 9:43PM | report this

Absolutely YES! Kwame is a plague of this team. He has no defense. He has no offense. He has no hands. He can't pass. Having 7 turnovers by the 3rd quarter. Everytime he holds the ball, he's getting booed by the laker fans. Where do we send him to? Who wants him? Please send him packing. We have no interior defense or offense now that Bynum is not with us. We need help, and we need it fast.

We miss you Golden Child
Jan 15, 2008 | 9:29AM | report this

Is it me, or am I the only one biting my nails when Kwame touches the ball? Is it me, or  is Kwame looking a lot lost on the defensive and offensive end? I miss Bynum. You know, they say, " You don't know what you have, until it's gone." Boy, Kobe, the kid that you wanted shipped out of here is the one kid you want back badly.

Kwame has no sense of awareness on the court. He's more like a spectator that's on the court. Watching as the defender flies by him. Only effort he give is to stick out his hand and try to poke the ball out of the defenders hand. Grant it, he gets those once in a full moon, but that's not good defense.

The Golden Child. Yes, you know who that is. The up and coming star of the Los Angeles Lakers. People say that he's the main reason why the Lakers are playing so great this yet. I 100% agree. Yes, we brought D-Fish Back. Yes, Kobe is playin more team ball, taking less shots. Bynum is the man on both ends of the court.

Offensively, just throw the damn ball anywhere with the vicinity of the rim and you can consider it done. Those arms are longer than the arms of the law. O.K., that may be a little far fetched, but you know where I'm getting at. The spin moves, finished with a baby hook. Wow, just amazing. Wait until he gets the infamous Sky Hook down.

Defensively, don't even think about coming down low when the Child's there. He'll send you packing or alter your shot. Does Kwame do that? Well, did I really have to ask that question?

So the bad news came and we will be without Bynum for a minimum of 8 weeks. Where do we stand now? Mihm's out, and we have Kwame. 'Nough said. I heard we are looking to bring some help....Webber. Wow. That just goes to show you what Kwame means to the Lakers.

Enough bashing Kwame. Bring some help..because Kwame will not cut it. We are currently number one, but not for long, so long as Kwame is our main center. We miss you Golden Child.
