Josh Q. Public: Simple and plain. Give me the lane. I’ll throw it down your throat like Barkley. See these car keys? You’ll never get these. They belong to the 98 posse. -Public Enemy
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Finally. Finally we made it. Looks like we made it. Barry Manilow style. But hold on there big fella. Not so fast. There’s still business to take care of. Serious business. Big business. Growed folks business. Cleveland Cavaliers business. LeBron James business. King James. The King is dead. Long live the King! Witness. This is the question on everybody’s mind today. How do the Boston Celtics stop the King today? How do you top a car? Tep on the break, tupid! If only it were that easy. We all know the Celtics play defense. Ridiculous defense. Preposterous defense. Ludacris defense. When I move you move. Just like that. Hell yeah! Hey DJ, bring that back! The Celtics are going to have to bring that defense back. Bring back the best defense in the NBA. Getting stops. Big stops. Important stops. Stops in the name of love. Getting huge defensive stops that enable the C’s to go on huge runs that lead to huge leads that means never having to look back. Howeva. Howeva, during the regular season, the Celtics and Cavaliers split their four games. Both teams winning on their home court. Boston won a game that LeBron James missed. Cleveland took a game that KG sat out. Pretty even. You know who you are? Even Steven. The Celtics are going to have to do better than Even Steven in these here playoffs against these here Cavs with this here Bron Bron. Paul Pierce will try not to exhaust himself defensively against the King. Why should he? He has help. He has Defensive Player of the Year help. Kevin Garnett help. Big Ticket help. Here’s your ticket. Hear the drummer get wicked. Garnett will be able to help because he will be able to leave Big Ben Wallace. Offensively impotent Big Ben Wallace. Offensively impotent Big Ben Wallace who averaged a paltry 3.2 points against the Wizards. Yes, Garnett will be able to leave Big Ben Wallace. But in order for Garnett to be able to leave Big Ben Wallace and help with LeBron, Kendrick Perkins must do his job. Perk must do his job and hang tough with Ilgauskas. Žydrunas Ilgauskas. Make sure you spell it right. Mike Bibby called Perkins “soft.” Mike Bibby said a lot of things. Where is Mike Bibby now? Perk cannot be soft tonight. Perk cannot be soft in any of these games. Perk will have to get physical. Let’s get physical, physical. I wanna get physical. Perk will have to get physical and keep a booty on the brother at all times. He will have to do his job so Kevin Garnett can do his. He will have to do his job so Kevin Garnett can free up and help with LeBron. Kendrick had his best game of the playoffs on Sunday. Heck, Kendrick had the best game of his life on Sunday. Ended up with a double-double. Double trouble. Throw it down, big man! Throw it down. He also blocked a playoff career-high five shots despite not playing in the fourth quarter. Perkins dominated Al Horford at the offensive end of the court. Perkins dominated Al Horford at the defensive end of the court. He limited Horford to four points, on 2-for-8 shooting, through the first three quarters. For the Celtics to win this series, they need more of the same. They need more Kendrick Perkins. NBA Action. Win or go home! Roll Celtics roll!

nba, i agree on some level. but the c's had the best road record in the league. this team is playing together for the first time in a playoffs. things will only get better. c's in 5.
I'll combine this and the last post from you to make one, nice, and neat response:
Tough defense? Oppressive defense? Serious defense? Serious Snape? They were playing the Hawks. The H-A-W-K-S. The 37-45 Hawks. The "we haven't sniffed the post-season since the strike shortened season" Hawks.
Double Lebron and pray like hell Boobie, DeLonte, and Wally chuck up clankers. If the C's lose one at home, the Cavs advance.
Like a pedal to the medal, LeBron is drivin' the car.

Josh Q.,
Nice post! Your blog is one of the most original there is out here in cyber-world. This will be a very interesting matchup to say the least and I agree C's in 5. I can here the crowd in Boston already yelling about the King..."off with his head!" lol!
"you want some more son?, you wanna get some?
bum rush the door of the store pick up the al-bum"
Don't worry, The Lakers will Bring The Noise right to Boston's doorstep.
We'll Fight The Power.
We'll stomp like S1W's.
We'll dance like Flav (see Mark Madsen, now Turiaf)
We'll Shut Em Down.
We'll bring it like Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos.
Don't Believe the Boston Hype...Atl exposed your flaws. Now you gotta deal with LeBron, and he's Louder Than a Bomb.
Celtics offense?...Can't Truss It.
Consider it done by The Prophets of Purple Rage.

There's a storm brewing...
PURPLE REIGN clouds are gathering...
A Dynasty re-born.
Good Suff JQ. I agree with you regarding KP helping out KG in order to limit Big Z. PP won't stop LJ, but RA also needs to do his part and stroke it like he's never done before in order to counter all the threes BG will make.
But the Celtics have to prove something this series. That's toughness in the playoffs.
They don't have experience playing together in the playoffs and I've been saying that since before the postseason started. It may come back to bite them against the likes of CLE and DET, who have both suffered through growing pains as a collective unit. This is what championship teams usually go through in their quest to win a title.
The Lakers went through it the last couple years and that's why the Lakers will win it all this year.
dizz I agree with all except "The Lakers went through it the last couple years and that's why the Lakers will win it all this year." if they do win it, it will be because of the pau pick up. nothing else.
Josh...dang, that game seven was nerve wracking until after the first minute. Ok..so we play down to the level of our competition....we should play lights out tonite. KG batting balls away, and lots of good D. Bring it on baby....Celtics in 5!
Kobe is the spearhead, but it requires a team effort to win it all.
Josh Q,
Your reply to dizz:

What Kobe went through with the Suns the last few years is similar to what MJ went through with the Detroit Bad Boys in the late 80's.
He now realizes he has to get his teammates involved to get over the hump. It will because of the talent level of the teammates he now has and TRUSTS, rather than just the arrival of Pau. I believe we'd be in the same situation if it were Bynum instead of Pau. Andrew's injury turned out to be a blessing in disguise...without it we wouldn't have gotten Gasol.
Now were poised for another 3-peat...possibly more.
The dynasty begins this year and should last for the next five to 10.
guys, i get all that. i do. but if the team stayed pat and never got pau, they would not be in the positionm they are now. they just wouldnt be. what i dont understand is, why is that so insulting?
hey josh, I don't know about Perk being the key but I love how everyone has written off the celtics after having to go 7 to take care of ATL.
Lebron is good enough to win two games against the C's by himself but thats about it
the celtics have enough bodies (Perk,Posey,Powe,Davis) to beat up the King and are good enough defensivly to defend the perimiter against Wally and Gibson If they do that they win the series easily
To all the Kobe rumpswabs out there, hate to break your hearts but your boy won't be seeing the finals this year, after sweeping the Spurs the "one true MVP" CP, will make short work of Kobe and friends on their way to a date with Celtic Pride.
ya heard it here first

It's not insulting JQ. I just wish more people can start to realize the overall effect of Kobe's presence not only on his teammates but on opponents as well.
Many will disagree with me, but Kobe is on that same level right now that Michael Jordan was on when he started his title run in 1991.
In fact, it was noted in the L.A. Times today that Kobe's work ethic and commitment to his annual workout regimen is even greater and more disciplined than Jordan's ever was.
That should show all of you skeptics a little sumthin sumthin.
If the team stayed pat, never got Pau, and Bynum would have never gotten hurt, the Lakers would be an even better defensive team because of Andrew's intimidating presence in the middle.
Kobe would have simply picked up the scoring slack and averaged 32 instead of 28. That's how great of a player Bryant is, because he is probably the best at adjusting his play and reacting to game situations.
FULLTILTFULLTIME: "one true MVP" CP, will make short work of Kobe and friends on their way to a date with Celtic Pride."
Did you forget about Kobe and the Lakers defeating the CP3 Hornets for first place in the West during the last week of the regular season when stakes were high?
Did you forget about Kobe and the Lakers (without Pau) demolishing the Hornets (who had their entire squad) by 29 in New Orleans this year when NO was in first place?
You are probably choosing the Hornets to play your Celtics because you don't want to see the Lakers in the Finals. I wonder why.
Kobe on the same level as MJ? J-Dizzle what you been smokin'?
C's swept the Lakers 107-94 in Boston and then handed Kobe and his boys a 110-91 whippin' at Staples... Kobe played well scoring 28pts with 3 assists and 4 rebs in Boston and 22pts,3 assists and 6 rebs. in LA. No one else showed up to play.
Your boys have got to BEAT Boston first before you can claim superiority over the Celts.

Amazing how Laker fans forget the 2 20plus point blowouts Boston delivered to them.
The more likely final will pit the Hornets against the Pistons. Bryant cannot carry LA against NO and Detroits experience will overcome Boston.
