Josh Q. Public: The long and winding road that leads to your door will never disappear. I’ve seen that road before. It always leads me here. Leads me to you door. -Beatles
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Larry Bird is not walking through that door, fans. Kevin McHale is not walking through that door. And Robert Parish is not walking through that door. And if you expect them to walk through that door, they’re going to be gray and old. Who needs them? And on the cool check in. Center stage on the mic. And we’re puttin’ it on wax. It’s the new style. The New Style Celtics. The Boston Celtics have won just three playoff series in the fifteen seasons since Larry Bird retired. If they win three this year, they will be in the NBA finals. The New Style Celtics will win three. The New Style Celtics will be in the NBA finals. With the Big Ticket, The Truth and Jesus Shuttleworth, how can they not be? With the Big Ticket, The Truth and Jesus Shuttleworth playing the best defense on the planet, how can they not be? The New Style Boston Celtics dominated foes night after night. The New Style Boston Celtics dominated foes fight after fight. The New Style Boston Celtics dominated foes like JJ Evans, dy-no-mite! They won forty-five games by at least ten points. They led the league in point differential averaging over ten points a game. Yowza! They finished 66-16 after going 24-58 last season. A forty-two game improvement that shattered the old record of thirty-six set by the San Antonio Spurs. Shattered, shattered. Love and hope and sex and dreams are still surviving on the street. Look at me. I’m in tatters! The New Style Celtics left the rest of the NBA in tatters. Led the league in opponents field goal percentage. Led the league in opponents three point field goal percentage. Second in the league in opponents scoring. Defense wins championships. The Celtics play defense. Stifling defense. Asphyxiating defense. Michael Hutchence defense. Tom Thibodeau defense. Leading the way is the Big Ticket. Here’s your ticket. Hear the drummer get wicked. The Big Ticket may get shammed out of the MVP. May get travestied of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a shammed out of the MVP. He won’t get travestied of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a shammed out of the Playoffs MVP. That, boys and girls, is his and his alone. As is the Finals MVP. But like my main man Red Auerbach always says: “Individual honors are nice, but no Celtic has ever gone out of his way to achieve them. We have never had the league’s top scorer. In fact, we won seven league championships without placing even one among the league’s top ten scorers. Our pride was never rooted in statistics.” Our pride is back. Celtics Pride is back. So climb aboard. Climb aboard the victory train. This train is bound to glory.

This year's Celtic crop deserves props and kudos for a fantastic season.
Boston b'slapped the West all year.
On paper, Boston is the best; the playoff games will still be played.
(Detroit is in the weeds, waiting!)
Is there a way to make Boston play the 2007 Golden State Warriors? Boston should annihilate the East's 8th seed, Philadelphia Public Schools Emementary #247.
We here on the board of standards and practices of FOX Sports Blogs take our rules and regulations very seriously. We would hope that you also do.
FSB Handbook, Chapter Four, The NBA, Page (1), paragraph (1)....Heretowith, not every NBA blog must be Laker related. Howevah, nine out of every ten must include the words Laker, and, or Kobe in the title. Having over 80% of the blog's subject matter directly related to the Lakers, and, or Kobe is also acceptable.
Mr. Public, we have overlooked your loose interpretation of our policy and procedures long enough. Starting today you owe us nine Laker, and, or Kobe blogs.
I stand by KG to be the MVP as you mentioned before. I know Kobe is just as valuable to his team, but for KG to come into Boston his 1st yr and have an immediate impact should be enough. He has value-bility and value-gility.
Nice scrib!
I like that. It's been a long time since anyone gave some kind of tribute to INXS. Indeed, the Celtics are a "New Sensation".
I admire what the Celtics have done all season long.
But at the same time, their old nemesis in purple-and-gold is slowly developing a 7-2, 7-0, 6-11 frontline that will undoubtedly give the C's something to think about. And when you add Kobe to the mix, I'm not so sure Celtic Pride may be enough to overcome the Lakers' next dynasty.
The Celtics' aging veteran trio of KG, Pierce, and Allen has about a 3-5 year window to win a couple titles before their skills start to diminish.
The Lakers' nucleus of Kobe, Bynum, Pau, and Odom are all under 30 yrs old with about 8 more solid seasons ahead of them.
I'm a Pistons fan and the East finals is only going to see Orlando, Pistons, or the Celtics battling it out for the NBA Finals the other five teams mine as well just go home now because they have absolutely no hope, but I predict the Pistons Vs. the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals because the Pistons have been to the finals the past 5 years I think.
As a life long Laker fan, it is hard to deal with this new Celtic team.
I used to hate but respect the Celtics back in the 80's, that was ez to do when I could focus on McHale's bizarre build or Ainge's whining face.
But the Celtics are a team that dominates oppononents, plays incredible defense, shares the ball and has some great young up and comers on the roster (Rondo, Powe, Big Baby). As a basketball fan it is hard not to like this team, but as a Laker fan I am supposed to.
Lakers vs. Celtics in the Finals! Wake up the ghosts!!
While it's true the Celtics had a 2-0 record vs. the Lakers this season, they played them BEFORE Gasol came to the Lakers. The Lakers finished 22-5 after they traded for Gasol. The team the Celtics will have trouble against won't be Detroit, but Orlando. Detroit could be on the verge of an epic implosion.
