Bye-Bye Isiah

Josh Q. Public:  It’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right.  I hope you had the time of your life.  -Green Day

Public Service Announcement:  OK, here we go!  Let’s get this straight right off the bat.  Rat-a-tat-tat.  You dirty rat.  I hate Isiah.  Always have.  Always will.  Ever since he uttered those words.  Uttered those blasphemous words.  Those sacrilegious words.  Those insolent words.  When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds.  Pretty standard really.  I wish Isiah was placed in a burlap bag.  I wish Isiah was beaten with reeds.  You remember what Zeke said.  You remember what Zeke said about my boy.  You remember what Zeke said about my boy Larry Bird.  What Zeke said about my boy Larry Bird after Bird and the Boston Celtics took out the Bad Boys.  Took out the Bad Boys in the 1987 playoffs.  Took out the Bad Boys after Zeke inbounded the ball to an unsuspecting Bill Laimbeer and Bird made a miraculous steal to win the game.  Now there’s a steal by Bird!  Underneath to DJ who lays it in!  Right at one second left! What a play by Bird!  After that, Thomas had the grapes to say, the sour grapes to say:  if Larry Bird was a black guy, he would just be another good guy.  Maybe you can forgive that.  I can’t.  Maybe you can forgive what he did to your boy.  Maybe you can forgive what he did to Michael Jordan.  Maybe you can forgive the 10th Avenue Freeze Out he pulled on His Airness in the 1985 All-Star Game.  I can’t.  He’s Bill Munny.  He’s Unforgiven.  Unforgiven for what he did to the CBA.  For running that league straight into the ground.  No passing Go.  No collecting $200.  No collecting anything as the last Johnny Paycheck was never paid to many of the teams.  Unforgiven for what he did to the Toronto Raptors.  Unforgiven for what he did to the Indiana Pacers.  Unforgiven for what he did to Anucha Browne Sanders.  Unforgiven for what he did to the New York Knickerbockers.  Today, Knicks fans everywhere can breathe the sweet breath of relief.  Today Knicks fans everywhere can rejoice.  Today, the New York Knicks will turn their basketball operations over to Donnie Walsh.  Today Donnie Walsh starts to undo all that Zeke has done did.  That’s a lot of undoing.  A lot of ungluing.  A lot of analytical reviewing.  Today is the beginning of the end for one Isiah Lord Thomas.  Good riddance.  If there is any justice in this world, Isiah’s basketball career is over.  All over.  Johnny Havlicek stole the ball.

Certainly the Bird steal and assist for the win is one of the great plays in Celtic history, and Isiah's racist comment was unfortunate. He hasn't learned much since, as the whole harrassment lawsuit showed. It's certainly time for him to go away...

Wow. I've never seen that video. I read the reports of course but seeing it live is entirely different. Thanks for posting that Josh.

Growing up as a young point guard, I always admired Isiah. I loved watching him play. He was a ball-handling wizard and he was tough as nails.

But he has shown a dark side time and time again.

If this is the end of Thomas' time in New York, what's next? Will ANYONE take a chance on him now? Will he go quietly? Does he have more dirt on MSG that he's holding over Dolan's head?

At this juncture there can't be anymore welcoming news than this for all of the Knicks' fans. And though we've yet to hear from James Dolan on the matter. You've got to feel that Isiah'll be backing up that U-Haul truck to remove his belongings out of MSG once the season is over. That's unless he's still in possession of those compromising pictures of Dolan and a goat ?

I still can't understand how in this day and time with people being as sensitive as we are, that this level of insensitivity towards race and gender was allowed to exist at the highest level within a professional sports franchise. I have never seen anything so laughably ridiculous in my life. He has made a mockery of the Knicks, MSG, the city of New York, and all of the Knicks fans. It is disgusting, appalling, and completely unacceptable. I can safely say that his "contribution" to the Knicks franchise will most certainly not be missed.

Too bad he doesn't "make a distinction" between acting decent and acting like an imbicle towards women he finds attractive or the white devils that have made him a millionare.

What a tool.

I hope the door slams on his tail as he slithers out the door.

LAKE-SHOW.
