IT Took a little Longer BUT
Feb 03, 2008 | 8:00PM | report this
Well it took a little longer than my last post predicted (pats lose first round playoff game) but THEY DID LOSE TONIGHT! WHOO HOOO! NOW then can all go home and cry in Belichick's cut off sleeves. The Giants defense showed up tonight and showed the world that going 18-0 doesn't mean #### if you don't win the big one. BYE BYE BRADY! You got laid out on your #### tonight and you deserved every bit of it!

Those cocky MO FO's called the New England Patriots got their #### handed to them and I for one am LOVING IT! Now I can take this victory and shove it up ALL YOUR BANDWAGON JUMPIN CANDY ####! INCLUDING SOME OF MY CO-WORKERS! F the Patriots! Next season, Patriots go 11-5 at best.

Vikings no longer undefeated, lose in an ugly game!
Sep 17, 2007 | 5:02PM | report this

Well so much for my last post, the Vikings stunk up Ford Field in a loss to the Lions.  The teams combined for 12 turn overs and yet the game went into OT.  Both defenses played allright, but wow what a mistake filled affair.

Until Tavarius Jackson learns to throw the ball away instead of to a defender the Vikings won't win many more games.  Four interceptions isn't going to get it done.  Childress is going to stick with him, but unless he pulls his head out, the Vikings won't finish better than 7-9.

The Vikings' defense continues to impress against the run, but Kitna did throw the ball up and down the field.  We HAVE to get a pass rush or this will be a very long season.  Great game by Darren Sharper though, two picks and a fumble recovery.  He could have another pro bowl year this season.  Other than that there isn't alot of positive things I can write here.  Here's to hoping that the Vikings can win one on the road against the chiefs.  They should stop Larry Johnson, so I'll predict Vikings 17 Chiefs 12.

Cya next time!

HEY! The Vikings are undefeated! More wins to come!
Sep 13, 2007 | 8:14PM | report this

Wow, my MN Vikings are undefeated so far this season!  The question is will that continue?  Answer?  No.  I seriously doubt ANY team will have an undefeated season again (free agency, salary caps, etc) but at least for now the Vikings are 1-0.  So as Goldberg used to say, WHO'S NEXT?  Well the Lions, also undefeated and looking much improved are next.  What's different about these Lions and the Lions or years past?  One major difference is their offensive coordinator, Mike Martz.

Yes, Mike Martz who brought "the greatest show on turf" to St. Louis is now in Detroit and that alone makes them better and very dangerous.  With two very dangerous wide receivers and an improved defense (think Shawn Rogers) the Lions are not going to be pushovers any longer.  Sure it was a terrible Oakland team they beat last week, but the Vikings realize that they cannot take them lightly.  You have to defend an offensive scheme when you play the Lions, not just one or two guys as in the past (think Barry Sanders 10 yrs ago).  The Lions and Martz will spread you out and make you respect the passing game which of course will open up some running lanes.

So what is a defensive coordinator do against an offensive scheme like that?  RUSH THE PASSER, that's what.  In the past, John Kitna has shown himself to be prone to mistakes when faced with a big rush, so that's what the Vikings need to do, force him into making mistakes.  The Vikings will also have to cover people, which I believe they can do if opposing quarterbacks are rushed.  Last season the Vikings had the best rushing defense in the league, but since they couldn't rush the passer they were last in pass defense.  This was exposed before mid season when they faced the cheating Patriots.  So what did the Patriots do?  They chose to run the ball very little and use the intermediate passing game to move the chains.  Other teams soon caught on to this idea and used it to force the Vikings to finish 6-10.  Of course that isn't to say that the Vikings offense did them any favors.  While Martz may be credited with the most exciting show on turf, the Vikings had the most boring show on turf last season.

That all being said, the Vikings should be better on both sides of the ball this season, even with Tavarius Jackson being inexperienced.  If Adrian Peterson can stay healthy and if Jackson can avoid major game changing mistakes, the defense will do their job.  My prediction for the Vikings vs Lions is this:  Vikings 27 Lions 14.  The Vikings defense will get at least two turnovers and even if they don't score on them, it will give the Vikings an advantage and a short field.  GO VIKES!

Hogan knows best?? Steroid suspensions and Triple H Returns
Aug 30, 2007 | 11:24PM | report this

Nick Hogan (aka Nick Bollea) was involved in a serious car crash with a good friend last week and rumors are swirling regarding the circumstances.  Some rumors are that Nick and his father Hulk Hogan were racing each other that night, some even saying the the car Nick was racing closely resembled the silver Dodge Viper Hulk Hogan owns.  That would explain how Hulk arrived on the scene so quickly after the accident happened.  Of course these are just rumors at this point, the Tampa PD is staying silent on the accident up to this point.  What isn't a rumor though is the fact that Nick has already racked up some serious speeding tickets including going over 100mph in a 70, and 75 in a 45. The Hogan family has even hired a DWI attorney in case Nick is charged with a crime in the accident.  Nick could face up to 15 yrs in prison if his passenger and friend dies.  Apparently Hulk needs to power bomb his son and pull his keys, although the court system will probably do that for him regardless of how Nick's friend turns out.

In other WWE news, it has been reported by numerous sources that the WWE has suspended 10 performers for violating the "wellness" policy.  It has even made the names public, which is something WWE hasn't done in the past.  This of course is a direct result of the death of Chris Benoit and his family, and also the upcoming congressional hearings on the WWE.   Vince Mcmahon has even gone so far as to make fun of those hearings on his TV programs.  This goes to show you how little he thinks of his performers and their taking steroids, HGH and other substances to enhance appearance and performance.  Let's face it folks, pro wrestling will ALWAYS include steroid use and abuse.  You can't make it to the top without having the "look", and the only way to get that "look" and stage presence is to bulk up.  It's not just the "look" though, steroids are proven to help heal injuries faster which the wrestlers need in order to keep their spots on the roster. They don't get paid much without working and they have no health plans as they are indepenent contractors.  So what do you expect with the conditions and contracts they work under.  I expect things to return to the status quo once the dust settles, that is that the wrestlers will continue to use the drugs and they will continue to die young.  It's very unfortunate when you consider the short time frame they have to compete.  Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson was smart to take advantage of his Hollywood offers and get out while still healthy.  Yes we miss him as fans, but I respect his decision and I'm sure his family is happy with it as well.

In other WWE "big news" the "big nose" Triple H has returned to the ring.  Gee, he looks almost as bulky as ever.  I wonder if Vince has turned a blind eye to his steroid use.  In case you didn't know, Triple H was injured 9 months ago by tearing a quad muscle again.  He wouldn't be having those injuries if he let himself return to his normal size.  HHH was never that large 10 years ago and no one can tell me that his new found size is the result of "natural" training.  His return to Raw on monday night was relatively uneventful and unfunny as he was trying to get Vince's goat ala DX.  Lame.  I want to see the mean, venegeful and deceitful HHH that he was.  You never knew when he was going to bring out the hammer and bash someone's skull open.  Degeneration X humor was fun to relive for a little while when he and Shawn Michaels brought it back last year, but it's dead.  They need to leave it be and move on.  I mean what's next?  Another NWO reunion?  I sure hope not.

I had planned on moving on from reporting on pro wrestling in my blogs, but there were too many stories going on lately for me to ignore.  So I guess your favorite pro wraslin blogger is back, at least for now.
