Sigh...

And back home in the States, in the league that doesn’t take time off for the World Cup, today’s news brings another sign of the Apocalypse.

One would think they'd spend some time trying to fill the empty seats.

Fetching new blog look! Keep up the great coverage of an under valued sport here in the States...

One would also seem to think that MLS is simply doing this because it makes them look like the other sports. Once again, creeping back into the territory of worrying about how they look to the non-soccer fans.

The MLS season runs through summer because they don't want to compete with the other major American sports. It's a smart marketing move & the only decent explanation I can come up with. And it's not bad when it's not a World Cup year since the only thing on in the summer is baseball.
How can people love baseball & dislike soccer & hockey? Baseball is sooooo much slower. You have time to go to the bathroom after a batter hits & are still likely to get back in time to see the next batter up--or at least without missing anything eventful.
