Now let me say this first. I think that these restrictions are great. I just wish they would allow group celebrations again, with the same restrictions.
First the new rules. The "No Fun League" strikes again. This is what some people say. I think the new rules are great. Now we don't have to deal with idiots like TO, Moss, Johnson, Smith, and many others. The new rules state that there can be no more going to the ground. For example, Steve Smith's row the boat celebration. There can be no more props used, including the football. Example, Portis' CPR on the football. You can't use the goal posts anymore, except for dunking. So no more boxing the post etc... The best rule they made is that when a ref comes over and tells you to quit, you have to or you will be penalized. Dancing is still excepted, spiking the ball, pretty much all the regular celebrations. These are being implemented (hopefully) to keep the game from being delayed. Now while some of the celebrations are funny, and pretty creative, some are just ridiculus. Talking on your cell phone, what the hell? Serving the ball like a waiter (TO) what the hell? Rowing the boat in the endzone. Putting the ball with a pylon. Oh, and the one where the player comes out to middle field and celebrates on the Dallas star. Hey, wasn't that done by Dallas' new reciever, Terrell Owens(I ope they boo him his first game). These were all a waste of time. This is what gets me most, how players get coriogrifers(please excuse my spelling) to show them some. Hmmmm... Couldn't you be spending that time training to play. These players are exactly whats wrong with the NFL, no all sports. And has anyone seen a trend in these players? For the most part they all cause trouble for their team.
Ok, now that I've stated my opinion about the new policies, lets go on to my second. I don't see whats wrong with group celebrations. Isn't football a team sport? Doesn't every player contribute to a touchdown? Then why can't all the players celebrate with each other? I saw nothing wrong with the Dirty Bird for Atlanta, or the bob n' weave for St. Louis. Now some are a little much, like when the players line up and one of them guns down each player. That wastes time. But why can't they make the same restrictions they make on single player celebrations for group? They are just renforcing the thought that players like TO and Moss did do it themselves. That there wouldn't be a team if they weren't on it. This is the greatest sports quote when it comes to these kinds of subjects..."There is no I in Team".
My name is James Stocker. Call me Jim. I am a sports fanatic. I like everything St. Louis. The Rams, Cardinals, and for college, The Missouri Tigers. I am interested in Football mainly but am also a huge Cardinals fan, see my pic. My posts involve These three teams and major goings on in MLB and the NFL.
