In the movie Scarface there is a line when Tony M. says-" Im the bad guy" you need me so that you can point your finger at me and say thats the bad guy.
How true is it that we need the bad guy the media wouldnt survive if all they had were stories about some guy rescues a cat out of a tree or billy helped some ol' lady across the street again..
we need the bad guys so that we the court of public oppinion can point our fingers and say" their the bad guys"..
Roger C...OJ. S....BarryB...Pete R. well you get it the list goes on and on
what would it be like if everybody was perfect?-and no human error was ever commited? -
now dont get me wrong I dont condone their behavior but hey they are only human are they not?..
and we need them to point our fingers at and say their the bad guys.
So is it wrong of us to put our two cents in when we see someone breaking the rules or the law..? I know ive been guilty of it myself but it dosnt make me right ....
But I do find myself scanning the web looking for the next victim that was unfoutunate to get caught doing something stupid and salavating as I write a post about it.
in that respect I am a bad guy- but isnt that what everybody wants.?.to be the bad guy?
JW: See? It posted....Very nice. One thing though, we can no longer really see the bad guys cause they no longer wear black hats.
And we only find out about the bad guys cause the media delights in pointing them out to us, mainly cause it sells....good news/good guys never sells.
Right now the bad guys include the oil companies and OPEC and the President of the United States, even Roger Clemens and OJ have to take a backseat.
But, sad but true, we have to have bad guys, evil if you will, to show how "good" the rest of us are, even though we cheat on our income taxes, our spouses, litter and speed over the speed limit to name a few. ............Nicely done JW!
Fuzz-- thanks for the visit and it seems to me your right about the back seat and history glorifies the bad guys the Jesse James's the Billy the kids and such...
aero13 some of the ones doing the watching are far worse than who their watching corruption is always prevalent and just think about how many times youve heard Roger Clemens name lately but not the good guys name like Cal Ripkin..
JOKERSWILD
In the rarified atmosphere of sports . At times it's somewhat necessary to have a hero and a villain.
A lot of the time that'll be predicated on the actions of the individuals in question.
I'd like to add the following to your list.
If you can find anything more heinous than this then I for one would like to view it.
rampant' aka tophatal ......
Ray Carruth had his ex girlfriend killed whilst she was 6 1/2 months pregnant all because this ingrate didn't want to pay child support.
If you think that there's anything more heinous than that. Then I for one would like to see it. We don't necessarily need a bad guy. We just want guys who at the end of the day are willing to step up to the plate and be accountable for their actions.
Too often we tend to laud these as heroes when infact they're not even that. They're actually pieces of scum !
rampant' aka tophatal ......

Hanahan-- your right about flair and just like Dale Sr. and now K.Busch you jus gotta have the bad guy thanks for dropping in heres a cold frothy one for ya..
Top--That guy looks like he already knows hes going to be blowing-- look at his cheeks hes practiceing..lol thanks for the visit.
What most bad boys misunderstand is that women love the bad boy IMAGE. Nobody said anything about actually loving bad boys who are in and out of trouble with the law, going to jail, beating up women and worse, etc. etc..
The Kyle Busch image is a "bad boy" on the track. I don't know of him actually being a bad boy.
Why would a bad boy misunderstand anything? lol It has nothing to do do with a woman. You're either a bad boy or you're not.
Without trying to sound like a jerk, you aren't thinking or caring anything about what a woman thinks when you are a true bad boy.
From a former badboy I can tell you it's a mixture of genetics and the environment you grow up in.Some people never stop or can't stop being a bad boy and some people can grow out of it once you lose the anger you have accumulated from the environment or household you grew up in.

J Dubb - I've always told my kids that through the bad times in life, it will teach you to appreciate the good things in life. Same thing with the bad guy/gal... makes us appreciate the stand-up people we meet even more. It takes no effort to be a drop-out from society and give up on the effort of accomplishing anything.
The "Ima thug" mentality basically screams "I'm too low class to care about my image". But they serve a purpose - they help us put the right ones on a pedestal when it matters. Could be a variety of hometown heroes, like teachers, charity driven athletes, our military men/women... etc.
Even in sports we need someone to hate. As a young man I tuned into Monday Night Football to hate me some Howard Cosell. And he was only an imaginary bad guy - created by the media so you'd tune into hate him... Those were the days!
Nique it is true that some women like the bad boy image but as sixfiggue states you either are or are not..look at the babes Dennis Rodman pulled in and hes definitly not a hansome man..there are women who fall in love with serial killers its crazy..but the point of this blog is that the media needs these guys and thrive on writting about them,, thanks for the visit
Six--good job you nailed it you bad boy you,,lol and theres no in between you either are or your not but there are alot of bad boy wanna bes..

Midnite--thats a good thing to instill in your chldren makes them appreciate what they have ive had some ruff times in my life as im sure lots of people have..but ive learned to appreciate the things I have now and hope to never have to go through the ruff times again..thanks for your comments
54--lol--you get my vote thats what we need an honest person in politics..
"Good guys only win in the movies"- Mel & Tim
"I hear he's bad, mmm he's good/bad but he's not evil"- Shangri Las
There are bad guys people love to hate. But they respect them. It's the folks who pretend to be the good guys and try to get away with something that the public will turn on.
I am a football fan first and foremost I will root for any team as long as their not playing the Buckeyes and am also a Nascar fan and root for Dale Jr. and Tony Stewart I like humor and jokes and stay away from politics and religion I have a black belt in crowbar and baseball bat .
