Cliff Lee...0.81 Era....6-0...
May 08, 2008 | 6:01AM | report this

Cliff-Lee.jpg image by jokerswild_2008 Cliff Lee is on a roll lee improved his record to 6-0 and lowerd his era to0.81...0.81 Wow ..

Cliff is on a tear this season and putting up crazy numbers...He pitched 7 innings in last nites game giving up no runs to the Yankees.

The Indians have takin the first two games against the Yankees and seem to be putting it together as a team getting clutch hits when they need them..

Good job Cliff keep it up and you may be the second Indian to get the Cy Young in two years wouldnt that be something....

here's some more for ya:

Lee pitched seven scoreless innings, lowering his ERA to 0.81. Since the end of World War II, only three pitchers have won their first six starts while posting a lower ERA: Fernando Valenzuela (0.33) in 1981, Roger Clemens (0.73) in 1991 and Pedro Martinez (0.79) in 1997.

Lee is mowing guys down like he's on a mission. Both and Santana of the Angels have really impressed me this season at this juncture.

As to whether they can hold up for the rest of the season is open to debate. But it's something special to watch.

Lee became the first Indians pitcher to win his first six starts since Greg Swindell in 1988 and lowered his major league-best ERA to a microscopic 0.81. Way to go Lee!!!

Wait until Lee faces the rest of the league. The teams he has faced so far are a combined 86-89. Does anybody remember Andy Hawkins? Probably not, but one year he started 10-0. Statistical anomalies are abundant in baseball.

How about this one. Hawkins pitched a no hitter and lost 4-0.
