Big Brown wins the Kentucky Derby and is the fisrt horse since the 1920's to win from the far outside stall 20th.
He ran a perfect race started great was in excellent position at the turn and closed with ease near the quarter mark then poured it on to win by several lengths
There was also Tragedy... The Filly Eight Belles who came in second broke both front ankles and was put down at the track... that is truely sad and a shame after the Filly ran such a great race...
Geez this bothers me... ESPN had a segment earlier today on the filly and her trainer. The woman interviewing the trainer while she rode a tall white horse and the trainer, he looked like a man in his late forties to early fifties, rode Eight Belles. It was her daily workout a couple of days ago and you could see how much he thought of that young horse as he described her. He said "just look at her, head up ears up, always happy, never a problem. Man...
She was undefeated going into the Derby and she gave it literally everything she had. These horses are thoroughly bred to race and many will run until their heart gives out. I thought that was what had happened...
Underage thanks for dropping by and you don't have to call me sir there are alot of youtubes about speedracer out there the cartoon still may come on now and then but im not sure when or what channel youll have to check a tv guide for that but there is a movie comming out soon about speedracer the previews look really good
54-I think it deserves a good remdition of O'Dannyboy god bless her owners and trainers I am for sure their grief is beyound words..thanks for dropping by
I gotta go wathc the Magic beat the Pistons now. Take care, JOKER. Congrats on the correct pick. My pick, Colonel John showed some speed there at the end, but not enough, unfortunately. Oh well, I picked by dropping a pencil on paper, so I can't be that disappointed. See ya.
Mike not bad for dropping a pencil and I knew when I saw him race in florida he was going to win but the fact that he won from the outside makes it that more special
I hope he has been a winner. BTW, I saw his profile on a HOT celebrity & millionaire dating site called ' W e a l t h yF i n d e r . c o m. He even wrote blog, thousands of hotties leave him msg.

Wow now thats one cool horse id like to see him type on a keyboard and some of the messages women send him..
not only the loss of the horse, but think of the many hours of training??? the spending time with it... if your an animal lover like me.. getting close to it as FRIeNDS?????? maybe???? and the money spent on food???? then have to put the horse down due to injury!!!!!! sad!!!!!!!!
speaking of my love for animals... i got my cat soon after i got sober... my nieghbor got a hold of a cat whos owner we suspect ahd givin up when they moved.. anyway my nieghbor kept it but since she had a cat and was moving back east.. wanted to know what i wanted to do with the cat?? i didnt really know??? so to make a long story short, she asked a few days later and if i didnt want the cat she would take it to the humane society ... nothing against them... but i just couldnt see this cat in there!!! so even today my cat BLAZE and i are very happy!!!!!!!!!
As a horse lover and an admirer of the races, I have to still believe the horses are just to young. In my opinion, if they started racing them at four instead of two the filly wouldn't have broken her legs. She ran her heart out with a spirit that soared well beyond the Kentucky Derby.
This is beyond sad. The only reason that poor horse died was because of poor handling and a lousy track. The horse should have been allowed to ease back running at the end, instead he rode her hard and pulled up hard and short. The track is to darn hard. Wake up!! I no longer have any interest in the Derby, Preakness, etc., horse racing period and will encourage others to do the same. Horses can not say NO like humans who can make a choice when participating in sports abusing their bodies.

Rngatorhorselover -I dont know they have been racing these horses for a hundred years I doub't anything will happen to stop them and I apreciate your comments
So what if the horseracing industry has been around for a long time. It's still inhumane. Stop the brutality. Write Congress to start new legislation now!!
