Hello sports world I am starting this blog for all the die hard Kings fans, i have been a die hard Kings fan since 1999 when they started turning the corner. I've been keeping up with the Kings ever since, the Kings should be a decent team this year maybe no playoffs, but they will give teams a run for their money. I see this team winning at least 5 more games than last year, which should finish something like 43-39, still not enough for the mighty Western Confrence for a playoff spot, but you never know, that is why they play the game. The Kings are set for the future with a young talented core in the front line, with Spencer Hawes playing the center,Jason Thompson playing the power foward, and Donte Green playing the small foward, that alone is a BIG front line. No more uncontested lay ups from opposing teams, the front court wont look like that for at least another two years. I like this years line up that should be like this: C-Brad Miller, PF-Mikey Moore, SF-John Salmons, SG-Kevin Martin, PG-Beno Udrih. The Kings Bench is full of young talent waiting to blossom as soon as they get a chance, with the veteran prescence of Bobby Jackson, the youngsters should follow his lead, the young players i expect to have break out seasons are: Francisco Garcia- he has the heart of a leader and is not afraid to take the final shot, Spencer Hawes- has the best hands for being a center, is great passer and has a killer hook, reminds me of Vlade Divac. Also look for Quincy Douby to light up the score board this year, if not he will be a complete bust, so it's a do or die season for Douby, but i see him having a great year after performing awsome in the summer league. The future is bright Kings fans have patience it will be needed unless our young talent developes right away, then we will be great this year, but i don't see that happening for at least two more years. Let me know what you think of this years Kings team. GO KINGS !!!!
Brad Miller has become a liability with his contract and never ending injuries. At this point in his career he's nothing more than an overpaid backup. Mikey Moore while energetic is a backup on most teams.
You may be right in your view of the young players and you are certainly right in your projection of a couple of years.
Still I like your enthusiam and your reality and the fact you're not a blind homer. Good blog.

Got to agree with you on Brad he is a liability after the pot smoking incident, however he is important on the development of Spencer Hawes hopefully Hawes developes this year and we trade Miller next year for some draft picks or young talent.

Welcome to Foxsports NBA category. We're a pretty good bunch here, lots of Lakers fans (myself included). Should be a good blogging season!
I live in New Mexico, and liked Theus as a player and Loved him as the coach of NMSU. I think he has the respect of the players, so that's a good start. The team really played well the 2nd half of the season, and should be much improved with the young talent gaining experience.
With the injury bug already biting Golden state, and the Clippers having to reset with Brand and Maggette gone and Baron here, it's a good opportunity for the Kings to make the playoffs.
Best of luck to the Kings, they and their fans are due for some good fortune...
Thanks for reading my blog and good luck on your teams success, as for the loaded comment it really sticks to miller for the pot incident..... We all make mistakes.
We will just have to wait and see what happens here, getting rid of Artest was a start in the right direction. I'm not getting rid of my tickets.....I love my team!!!!
The problem with Douby is that, yeah he did great in the summer league but that is hardly against the NBA finest... To me it is like going backwards to an almost college play again. Of course he is going to look good and he should, but we will see if that transfers over to playing against the real deal and you are right this is it for him this year...
I have a feeling that he will be packaged with others by trade deadline...too much talent ahead of him with Martin,Jackson, and maybe even Brown here on the Kings squad...salmons plays it (2)too so what is the point...lots of puns in that one...lol

I think Beno has something to prove again this year with the being "soft" thing and after hearing he was not going to play in China and instead staying here to strength train it is obviously clear he wants to play at a high level. His contract is good but not anything that can't be dealt if he doesn't play well...
Miller is...well Miller. Getting up in years and getting in trouble for stupid things are not a good sign of respecting the team you are playing for. Does it mean he will play bad? Who knows what going on here, but there is a young, talented and hungry for minutes Spencer Hawes just waiting for a chance...
Salmons is my favorite player too. I think that when he starts he plays well...when he comes off the bench he tries to do too much and forgets about team play...
Garcia..uh well he is a great player but I think he lacks moving the ball and tries to do too much by himself...(a nice way to say ball hog), I hope that changes this year...or he may be another packaged player come mid year trade dead line...
Jackson is a crowd favorite and he will bring Arco to life again... whatever his minutes I am sure he will transfer that energy to all the rookies and others on the team...the upside from the down side of Arstest in the locker room...
Martin will improve again just like every year he has played...He earned where he is and I am sure he will fight hard to keep it...
Power forward: I have no clue what will happen there...the newbies I'm sure will bring a fresh look to the Kings...
Shoot I forgot...what about who is NOT going to make the team???? How many are they going to keep? Something has to give...some more trading perhaps? or is there enough room for everyone? i can't remember how many you can have on the roster...can you put them on the IR list?
The most players a team can have on the roster is 15 i believe. On who's staying, well see once the pre-season starts. I hope that Petrie is still good on his talent evaluations.

Good blog on your fav team. I'm a Lakers fan myself. Now I know how you felt when KOBE and Shaq was beating the Kings in the playoffs every time. Remember when the Lakers won game 7 in over time when KOBE hit Bibby with the Lakers elbow. Thats how it felt when the Celtics beat the Lakers in game 6 of the finals. Lucky for Laker fans we get Bynum back. Go Lakers!!! Go 49ERS!!!
