UPS to #07? UPDATE 2: hearing UPS could move #07-Clint Bowyer of Richard Childress Racing, if os, no word where Jack Daniel's sposnorship would go, or if they would leave the sport.(7-1-2008) UPDATE Among the hot but unconfirmed rumors making the rounds in the Sprint Cup garage this week are that Richard Childress Racing will land UPS as a sponsor for Clint Bowyer’s #07 Chevrolet. Multiple sources indicated that Bowyer’s car was the favorite to take the sponsorship over from Michael Waltrip Racing and David Reutimann. One source close to the negotiations said RCR initially offered UPS #31-Jeff Burton, 41, but the delivery company wanted a younger driver with whom it could create a long-term identity and Bowyer is just 29. Burton, instead, will be sponsored next year by Caterpillar.(SPEEDtv)(7-6-2008) UPDATE 2: Sirius Speedway has learned that UPS will move from Michael Waltrip Racing’s #44 Toyota to the quarterpanels of Clint Bowyer’s #07 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet in 2009, leaving Jack Daniels in search of a new driver. That driver will be Ruan Newman, who is set to sign-on with Stewart at Haas CNC.(Sirius NASCAR Radio's Sirius Speedway)(7-7-2008)
Office Depot to Stewart UPDATE and Newman and Jack Daniels: been told that Office Depot will be the sponsor for Tony Stewart in 2009 when he drives for Haas CNC Racing which is will buy in to. Hearing the announcement of the buy and deal will be made in Indianapolis the week NASCAR is in Indy for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, July 27th.(7-3-2008) UPDATE: Tony Stewart is expected to announce a 2009 move to Haas-CNC Racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in three weeks. Reliable sources tell Sirius Speedway that Stewart will also announce sponsorship from Office Depot and Old ####e as part of a new, multi-year package with Haas CNC, and that Penske Racing’s Ryan Newman will join him as a teammate, with sponsorship from Jack Daniels. That surprise move comes as the result of an enviable situation at Richard Childress Racing, which now has five potential sponsors for next season, and only four teams. To my knowledge, no one has ever seen you and Jayski in the same room together...so I'm just saying - there may be rumors out there.
But I've seen him on TV, and there is NO WAY that you could be him.
I think if Smoke can buy out of his contract at JGR for 2009, than Home Depot can also opt out, which means they could go looking for another team/sponsor.
Funny moseby. It's all just speculation til we hear it from Tony's mouth at Indy, right? Same with the Jayski thing, where did that come from anyway? lol
Lori- I still cant believe Ryan would leave Penske to go with Stewart, those two are not exactly buds but stranger things have happened I suppose. Can't really see Ryan as the Jack Daniels guy either. The scoop from Ryan's crew was Ryan was to tell them his plans by July...so perhaps they already know.
And you are definitely NOT Jayski!! I met him at Vegas 4 years ago, you are WAY CUTER!!! LOL
Oh and s.p.i.c.e gets blasted because if you take off the "e" its an slang word...
Ryan Newman doesn't have many, if any friends among the other drivers. And, Tony really can't stand him. I don't see how Tony would be trying to hire him unless Ryan brings a sponsor, or a sponsor tells Tony that they want Newman.
Although, maybe Tony thinks that Newman won't race him so hard if he works for Tony.
Moseby: I must be missing some thing here. What Spi*ce channel?
Hot Foot:
What is the scoop on Tony's health? Seems like we may not be getting all the news on him feeling bad lately and in the past. Drastic weight gain, ETC.
Odd that he has the flu in July.
dang it Lori. I'm trying to get Smoke to drive for Cuda Incorporated and you keep spreading all these rumors getting everyone else involved.. Driving up the prices on me.. I almost had him convinced at 14 barrels of bananas per week, free babysitting for Lunatic and Fringe, and Girl-rilla spa treatments for life for yourself. Guess i'll have to up the offer now.

Lori, wasn't it Tony that said if Mrs. E., lets Jr. go that DEI would become a museum? Looks like he might be correct. It wouldn't upset me if Tony could buy DEI. However, I hope Tony is feeling better. I don't want to see anyond hurt or sick. There were some nasty things said about it today. Someone even said he was drunk. How stupid is that!
Photogr, I had the flu in July of 2002, it's not all that unusual. But it SUCKS. I can see why Smoke wasn't able to finish the race. When you're that sick, you feel like ####, you can't focus, and your head feels like someone's using a jackhammer inside it.
IMO, I see Martin Truex Jr. as Smoke's stablemate. It's possible both Jack Daniel's and Bass Pro Shops could be associate sponsors of Truex's car.
Nice rumors to mull over. Tony can scratch off "Home" and save some money on a paint job. I actually listen to him on Sirius (ch 128) and it's a blast! We are now in the hot months...I'm waiting for him to win a non-developmental race now. Dang...how much longer do I have to wait for a Cup win?
PS..."####e" contains a Hispanic slur in the word.
Will seem weird to see Tony in another car other than Home Depot. But...thats part of the NASCAR fun each year...team & sponsor changes. And seeing Ryan Newman as his teammate should certainly be interesting.
I find it interesting too that Stewart is going to hire Newman to drive his other car. These two have had alot of run-ins on the track in years past.
Guess all is forgiven. And Tony wants another Indiana boy driving for him.
But if Jack Daniels sponsors the 2nd car, wonder if Smoke will give up his beloved Schlitz for some Jack Daniels? But then again maybe he mixes them together. Don't even know if that is possible. But I wouldn't know not a drinker.
