Well at some point, one has to say enough is enough. I get Foxmail once in awhile from friends I have met on these pages asking me for my opinion about blogs and comments and today was one of those days. One of the people for whom I have the utmost respect was being severely denigrated by a new blogger because she had the audacity to criticize the blog. Comments supporting my friend from many others (including two from me) were deleted. So let me tell you how I feel about that B.S.
Nique, if you can't take any criticism you are going to stay mighty busy deleting comments for awhile and then people will just stop reading your garbage. Oh sure, you will still get a few supportive remarks from the normal cadre of kiss butt commenters who think they must always play nice with everyone except a few of us who are brutally honest on these pages. One, Gunny, even suggested using a comma or two occassionally to make your blog more readable but he has ignored numerous requests from others to stop typing in all caps to make his blogs more readable. I always ignore his blogs now although, unfortunately, I do see a few comments from him on others blogs. YM is another who can always be counted upon to criticize uncivility while always posting comments in support of garbage like yours. Even a guy I have always respected until today, chose to play nice with you for some unknown reason rather than supporting someone with much more class and reasonableness. Whatever Photoman.
The bottom-line is that almost all bloggers put their opinions out there knowing they will create both positive and NEGATIVE responses. If you are too thin skinned to handle that, maybe you should refrain from blogging so your fragile little psyche won't be harmed. At least that is not as cowardly as just deleting the negatives so it appears you are more well regarded than many know you are.
OK trashers. I know you are out there, dislike me strongly, and will gladly rush to type rejoinders to this blog. Bring 'em on.
Hoosier you just made my favorites list--I have a bone to pick with her also she has already takin two post that I have posted and copied the titles to suit her greedy need for comments let alone suddenly becoming a Nascar fan overnight then comming into the nascar section like shes been here all along and tearing into Volfan was the last straw..I like Volfan alot and she has been nothing but kind to me of course we may not agree on many things but we work it out and remain freinds...I know me and you have had our spats but that is only when your puttin T.Stewart down but hey you have a right to your oppinion and I respect that plus arguing with you is like fighting an uphill battle Ive got your back on this one glad you posted it.....JW
I attacked no one on my blog. I deleted you for saying my father has no class. You don't know my father and any decent human does not tolerate hate comments on their parents. Now you delete this, I don't care. You got the message. I was attacked for adverb usage? EXCUSE ME? This is english class? I don't have to delete your comment and anyone who reads your blog can see what kind of man your dad is and why you are who you are. As for you being ignorant, again readers can judge for themselves. If you used poor grammar and were corrected for it, perhaps you should proof your work or admit that you don't have perfect grammar. No one expects perfect grammar on the blogosphere. In terms of deleting comments, mine were not the only ones deleted and only one of them mentioned your dad. Thus you prove you are thin skinned and incapable of facing well deserved criticism.
that is a lie. Volfan came on MY blog and tore into me about things that are not even on the blog.
As far as your title goes Jokes you stole your title from another guy who said Kyle Busch had run over that person not Danica. THEN came your title and I openly admitted going even further with both titles and you were not the first so don't claim you were and don't claim I stole your title twice when you stole your one from another and embellished it, which is exactly what I did with yours.
Stop lying. I was not the agressor here and when you talk about my parents I will do exactly what you would do. I won't tolerate it.

I Do however have to say that Photogr is a freind of mine and in no way do I agree with you there.. he has a right to comment however he wants to whoever he wants whenever he wants and I wont take your side on that aspect of this post..

I respect your opinions (even when they are wrong - I mean even when I disagree with them). Seriously, there are many on here with differing opinions who express those opinions quite strongly but most can still respect each other. I haven't always agreed 100% with volfan69 but no one consistently exudes more class and kindness to others on these pages than she. Gunny is pretty self-righteous at times and since I often disagree with him, I choose to not read his blogs. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but not their own facts. Nique deserved the criticism she got and deleting comments because they question your opinion is COWARDLY. Thanks for stopping by JW. You are one of the most popular and well respected guys on these pages. I appreciate your support on this issue and KNOW we will have other issues upon which we disagre but I won't delete that disagreement. I can take the heat.

I've always considered photgr a friend as well and I agree it is his right to comment as he chooses but all free speech has consequences. I disagree with him in this case because he knows volfan69 and what a classy person she is.

It is unfortunate that you don't have coverage of racing events whereever you are and apparently do not know how to get informatino you would like to know. The guy who was hit said he was at fault. He also said he has been around racing for decades and should have known better than to be where he was and not paying attention. Anything else you would like to know about the incident?
You also erroneously posted that volfan69 called open wheelers icons of NASCAR racing when she clearly wrote icons of racing (no NASCAR in her comment).

You say you are the victim of a "violent" attack. Do they have a library at the college you say you attend? Perhaps you should try to find a dictionary there and look up the word violent and see if the definition is appropriate for the context in which you used it. Just a suggestion.
Those are the three comments. Since one has already been deleted by her it is obvious she has added a fourth "rule" to her blogs. If you show her a factual error in a comment she posts, she will also delete your post. I guess she thinks that may somehow "hide" her error. That is laughable.
Oh yeah, here is Rule #5 for Nique's blog. As long as she says something and then puts LOL after it, it is OK. Gosh, for those of you who want to waste time reading her blogs and then commenting maybe I should develop a pamphlet outlining all her rules. Most of us just take whatever comments we get and respond or ignore and move along. She wants everyone to learn her rules before they comment and then she still takes the cowardly way out and deletes any critical of her facts.
Rule #7 - Nique is NOT interested in anyone helping her improve her grammar, spelling, or punctuation even though the college where she says she is an honors student doesn't appear to be helping her. Ahhh, grade inflation, another great topic for a blog, just not on the racing pages.
Well the pot definately got stirred up didnt it? I must say, I read that blog. It was ok if a little novice. She's trying very hard to fit herself in with people who've been there done that and is not doing a great job. But I'm new so I thought I would keep my nose out of it even though the way she lit into volfan really didnt sit well with me. I've never seen volfan be rude to anyone and I've seen her comments everywhere.
She also deleted my post on that blog. All I said was that on what planet is Kyle Busch good looking??? LOL... guess Im not allowed to say that either. Oh well.
I respect Nique for doing her best to learn about NASCAR and its culture. It takes time and a lot of questions being asked to learn a sport like NASCAR. That being said, I respect anyone that puts themselves out there to write a post. If I disagree with the post, I'll say so and give reasons why. At the end of the day, it's all about being a better blogger.

The ONLY reason I mentioned your dad in my comments is because you mentioned him and basically said it was HIS thoughts in your blog including automatically beginning by calling people he knew nothing about crybabies. If you are going to use his words in your blogs, he is fair game. As for photoman's showing his true colors in terms of his "friendship" with volfan69, she now knows where he stands and that is good.
That brings me to Rule #8 for Nique. Whereas she apparently has low self-esteem, lacks good communication skills, and is hyper-sensitive to criticism, therefore commenters are forbidden from being critical towards her on HER blog. Be gentle friends, be very, very gentle.

Glad I crack you up but I am not and don't want to be your pal. You chose not to support another who was supposedly your pal and may have hurt her but I could care less whether I have pals here. My self-esteem is not affected by criticism, negative comments, or lack of respect for me.
I do agree with one of your points, however. This is not my BEST blog ever but they can't all be masterpieces as some have been ;-) and this one was just crying out to be written by someone. Nique brought up the education aspect when she said she is an honor student at the college level. Her writing speaks for itself - or her dad's writing since the blog seemed to be more his than hers.

I find it astonishing that, of all people, VOLFAN had a hand in starting this little tete-a-tete. Not that she was looking to, of course, but it is still damn funny.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. My only disagreement is that Nique doesn't give the appearance of someone "doing her best to learn about NASCAR" since she has only bothered to watch two races and since her primary source for racing knowledge/research sounds like an old coot who hasn't watched open wheel racing in 30 years. I always adhere to the philosophy that one should put their brain in gear before they open their mouth (or touch their keyboard in this case). There are a couple of much better ways to learn about NASCAR than her approach. First, she could use her honors level brain to read about the sport. Second, she could ask questions instead of writing garbage and then being upset when she doesn't get the adoration she expected. Third, she could watch more races and shows about racing and write on a subject about which she has picked up at least some rudimentary knowledge.

Thank you also for stopping by to offer your opinion. I think this whole thing with Nique and the criticism she earned but didn't expect just comes down to naivete. She's bound to get better if she'll step back and analyze the accuracy of some of her critics' comments.

True that. Besides, if someone posts an over-the-line comment on your blog, better to let the world see it and judge it and the commenter. Deleting it just makes you look like a crybaby.

You know, probably every one of us has posted something and later thought maybe it crossed the line or was too over the top but passion is a big part of racing and I love that the fans who comment on these pages have passion. None of us are perfect and we could all probably find something we posted at one time or another that we probably should have left unsaid BUT isn't that part of what makes this fun and entertaining - you big baby :-)

We have favorites and friends, but we also need to debate the issues. Don't give or take it personally. There are quite a few good racing writers presently here - and the more the merrier.

Last, if any of my comments insult anyone...I guess you have thin skin and you need to get over it. I didn't know there were unwritten rules as to the manner in which I can comment. If the rules are written, they are invisible to me. Someone needs to enlighten me. My point about Yee Mum is she is always positive with everyone (with me being an occassional exception). It goes to what volfan69 quoted from photoman. If someone always gives glowing, gushy feedback to every single blog, is that something the blogger should feel good about. I'd rather hear from those who disagree with my opionions, like you have here, so there is something to discuss and debate. Just saying nice blog, great post, ad nauseum really serves no purpose.
