Sidenote: Sheed' picked up his 6th technical foul last night. One more and he will be suspended for one game. Maybe it's best that the Pistons be eliminated before that happens.
If you ask me, it's Rasheed's game that is a major reason this team underachieves. Observe last night; he goes off from three-land, but is nowhere to be seen in the paint, and Kendrick Perkins ends up having a dominant game. If the Pistons lose tomorrow, I think I would consider trading Sheed for whoever, because this unit will have proven it can't get it done when it counts.
DownsA529 - I agree with your assessment of Wallace. I think he had 18 points last night and all 18 came off of 3-pointers.
Big guys who prefer to play outside have to be my biggest basketball pet peeve.
Even so, I think the Pistons would be better off if they traded RIP or Tayshaun. They need a swingman with size who can create his own shot off the dribble. Someone they can iso regularly.
i think that he shoulb out for more than just one he should be out for tow games to learn his lesson for make those technical fouls in the conferance finals
Heck, Artest would look good in just about any team not named Sacramento.
Cleveland, Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, Bulls, Pistons, Suns, Jazz, Nuggets, Blazers. Take your pick.
The problem with Sheed is that he doesn't have a defensive big man who can complement him inside like Ben Wallace did. Sheed is an outside-inside guy. But so is McDyess, who pretty much lives in the midrange area. And Maxiell is game but undersized. Wallace was all inside.
A guy like Sheed needs a solid big man who can take the load off him. It's no shock to me that Sheed dominated when he played alongside guys like Arvydas Sabonis, Brian Grant and Wallace. Laimbeer-like Brad Miller, though old as a dinosaur, would be an excellent complement to Wallace. Miller, who can put a body on the best of 'em, would not have let Perkins go off like he did in Game Five.
After having Sheed in my fair community for several years all I can say is thats Sheed. He has never played to his ability. He'll have a few good games and then disappear for a few. Not worth the money.
J-DIZZLE - Artest needs a strong minded coach. That means you can cross off about half of the teams on your list. I do agree with your opinion that Wallace needs someone to compliment him down low. Ben Wallace was huge for his game.
GameStormC2C - Are the Knicks your team?
Lisa H - Unfortunately, Rasheed does most of the talking for Pistons (on and off the court) too. No wonder they're so mind-boggling inconsistent.
degraff - I agree. Aside from LBJ, I think Wallace is the most talented player in the game.
I love basketball. While many basketball fans enjoy the month of March, I prefer the months of April, May, and June. I look forward to productive chats, heated debates, and honest opinions.
