Maybe Charles Barkley meant that the check is in the mail.
On his pregame NBA show on the TNT cable network Monday evening, Barkley told
the show’s host, Ernie Johnson, he has paid back the $400,000 he owed Wynn Las
Vegas.
In a response to a story first reported in the Las Vegas Sun last week,
Barkley also told Johnson that as a result of the controversy, he is giving up
gambling.
Apparently, the truth of both of Barkley’s statements remains to be seen.
Immediately after Barkley’s assertions, District Attorney David Roger said:
“We have no evidence to suggest that he has made any payments. We have neither
heard from Mr. Barkley nor received restitution from him.” [Read]
Hope he did not do what I did with a dentis one time. My son had to have emergency dental work done after a baseball game in another town.
I got a bill, paid it, the dentist cashed it, and I thought it was all done with. A month later I got another bill. I called, they apologized and then the following month, I began to get harrassing calls from a collection agency. After months of hassell, I ended up just paying the damn thing a second time.
A few months later I got a refund check from the dentist informing me that I had "accidently" paid the bill twice.
Always make sure the money goes where it is going to be credited.and I hope if he really did pay it, he got a receipt. LOL
Now, finally, Barkley is starting to realize that he cannot be taken seriously as future political candidate or even a voice about social issues when his behavior reeks irresponsibility.
I love basketball. While many basketball fans enjoy the month of March, I prefer the months of April, May, and June. I look forward to productive chats, heated debates, and honest opinions.
