It's great that Ronny's there, that man has HEART!
Thanks for putting the split face Shaq/Kobe commercial up too. I freaked when I saw that last night, my Tivo got a bit of a workout.
Pretty trippy.
They stopped making good looking basketball shoes a few years ago. This isn't a slam against Kobe, it's a knock on the lack of invention. The 90s and early 00s spoiled us. I'm not sure if the retro craze was the product of not being inventive or the demise of invention.
haha what a well pulled stunt. I'm with bleed too. glad to see ronny there. I'm not going to run out and but the shoe, but the clip definitely made me smile.
No real dislike on my part anymore, I'm just joking around. Most of my sarcastic comments about Kobe are just jokes, I'm more or less over what happened this summer.
The shoes look pretty good. I mean the purple and gold is hard to sport because nobody really rocks purple and gold clothes, but on the picture it looks nice.
That is a nice shoe. I don't really believe in paying 150 for a pair of shoes but i might have to make an exception. provided they have a different color. not one to match outfits to shoes. I'll leave that to the kids
I don't own all of them anymore and not all of them are in pristine condition. But I've owned 20 of the 23 at one point in time. My first pair of Air Jordan's were the III's. I still have the box. I wore a size 3 at the time.

That's good to hear. I know it's just basketball and it probably didn't take up too much of your time or thoughts but I think life is too short to hold a grudge against anyone.
ramogriff
Would you buy them if they were red and white, as in Rockets colors?

I'm not as bad as I used to be but I'm contemplating buying these and I already have the Kobe Zooms that came out earlier this year.
You know that movie had some kind of top secret info in it and they removed all the copies they could find to protect national security??
Crazy....It's only 20 F'n years too late.
Grassy knolls man, grassy knolls.
worst,
Tight?
Props man...welcome to the hip squad...groovy man..far out. LOL
It just seems a little out of place seeing TIGHT next to that ugly, smarmy, liver-lipped, incubus on your avatar.
Im not sure how I feel about that clip. Without any shadow of a doubt, it's not real. But some fools are going to THINK that its real and might try to do it... Im not normally the guy to blame "the media" for possibly causing someone else to get harmed, but these sort of clips or commercials that use special effects to achieve their goal but sort of deceive the audience leave me a bit irritated. Kobe repeats "dont try this at home" over and over like its an episode of ####, but the truth is he is saying it cuz not even HE would do something that stupid...I just wish at the very end of the clip, after it faded to black, small white text told the audience it wasnt real.
but oh well...its not a big deal...unless someone does try this...

Hoff, that waffle pair he came out with were beyond ugly. The Huarache 2ks were alright. I wasn't with all the laser etching. I did like his old shoes with Adidas. I used to be a big shoe collector. Had to tone it down a little. My prize shoe is the cool grey 11s. I think that is the one shoe that I will hold on to. I've already sold off my olympic 7s. Never been big on dunks or AF1 (unless it's white on white).
J-DIZZLE - I'm still partial to Air Jordan's. I really like his last two pairs.
nba is the worst - the Nuggets still have the more difficult schedule. One of GS's games is against Phoenix and with their playoffs secure and the fact that they seem to have everything figured out, I wouldn't be surprised if they rested Nash & Shaq in that one.
Lil_Hoff - I like what Barkley said last night. He said if someone at home is dumb enough to try that, nothing will stop them. Or something to that effect.
edmonspk - I agree. The "waffles" aren't much to look at. Some of his Adidas kicks were real nice. Apparently, they continue to sell those as retros. One of the pairs is called the 'Crazy 8's' and that might have had something to do with Kobe changing his #. My favorite pair of Jordan's are the V's and the VIII's. Hold on to those XI's. I used to save all of mine but I've thrown a lot of them away lately.
Someone really needs to start a company that details shoes - makes them brand new again. They would get A TON of business from me.
kellyscott - thankfully, the Lakers soap opera seems to be behind us. No more trade nonsense...
hoff, if you look on-line there are a few sites that show you how to DIY. From some of the pics, it looks like they work. I'm just too lazy. I retire a pair of kicks after they get creases.
Not sure if you've heard of this site...

You can find all kinds of basketball shoes. They don't sell though. I'm trying to find a pair of hyperflights right now.

Anybody who thinks Kobe actually jumped over that car should be shot.
The car was maybe three feet to his right. From the angle we see it, it looks like he jumped over it-- but to anybody with half of a brain, it's obvious he didn't jump over a car.
I love basketball. While many basketball fans enjoy the month of March, I prefer the months of April, May, and June. I look forward to productive chats, heated debates, and honest opinions.
