Pac-man Jones had a fight with his baby sitter after a night of partying this week. We all know that Jones has less self control than a crack ####, but how professional is his ‘bodyguard’? You get in a fight with the person that you’re supposed to be guarding? This appears to be strike one of the Cowboy’s version of ‘zero tolerance’.

Matt Jones, Jaguar receiver, and no relation to Pac-man, will skate on his coke charge in Arkansas. He does a little community service, and takes some drug tests for the NFL, and Arkansas will clear his record. It. Never. Happened.

Ex-Bronco RB, Travis Henry, was arrested last week for a coke deal gone bad. You always hear about the drug deals ‘gone bad’, but you never hear about the thousands that go good. Henry is looking at life in prison and a $4 million fine. Eyebrows were raised this summer when Mike Shanahan cut Henry. Maybe the Feds told him that Henry was under investigation back then. That’s why the Miami Airport cops didn’t press the pot possession case against Mike Vick. The Feds told them to back off, as Vick was already in their sights.

The Bengals signed RB, Cedric Benson who was released by the Bears due to his off the field troubles. WR, Chris Henry also returned from his NFL mandated suspension. The Bungles have led the league in arrests each year of, Head Coach, Marvin Lewis’ tenure. They have some talent, particularly on offense, but have made the playoffs just once during the Lewis regime. Why then, does Lewis tolerate the felons, druggies, and troublemakers on his roster year after year? If you aren’t going to ever make the playoffs Marv, why not do it with good guys? BTW, how in the hell do you still have a job?

Al Davis fired, Raiders’ Head Coach, Lane Kiffin last week. Both guys gave their own versions of the events which led to the ax falling. It was a classic case of ‘Zorak said…Lane said.’  Seriously, Michael Jackson looked at Al’s face and said, “DAMN!”

Ricky Williams reported that he missed smoking the tree during the Dolphins’ bye week. Really? I’m shocked to learn that Sticky Ricky ever gave up the hippie lettuce. I figured he was rocking the Wizzinator Version 3.0

Also, not going to the playoffs, the Cleveland Browns. The Brownies are finding out how difficult life can be when you’re schedule is one of the toughest instead of last year’s easiest. And, don’t even think that Brady Quinn is the answer. He’s Chad Pennington without the intellect.

Take the Giants at Cleveland Monday night. Lay the 7.5. Kellen Winslow might be out, although he probably wouldn’t matter anyway.

Also, take Detroit plus 13 at the Vikes. Monday night teams don’t do so well the following weekend.

Jaguar OL, Richard Collier was shot last month while sitting in his car by a, still at large, assailant. His condition was made public last week. He was shot 14 times through the windshield and side window. One leg has been amputated, and he is paralyzed from the waist down. Jacksonville law enforcement have no suspects, and there is a $25, 000 reward offered. This is an indictment on our society when young men shoot each other on a nightly basis with no fear of getting caught, or no regard for the consequences of their actions. The Jaguars should make a statement by offering a $50,000, or even a $100,000 reward. Instead of ‘snitches get stitches’, it should be ‘snitches get riches.’

I'm not surprised by any of thisat all. And we've already got Jerry Jones excusing the guy's behavior. But then again that's what Jones has been known to do best when he's not having his face lifted and tucked.

Pistol Pete...zup? I haven't been near a computer much in the last month, but I check in when I can.

Smoke FINALLY wins a race, and his fans come out of the woodwork? LOL

Dolphins, baby. They beat last year's AFC Championship game contestants back to freakin' back!

Hey, an RSO for the NFL! Nice.

I don't blame Travis Henry at all. Do you know how much it costs to support 9 kids from 9 different women, nowadays? Uhhh...wait, never mind the question.

Marvin Lewis still has his job because Mike Brown is the CHEAPEST owner in the NFL and won't pay for another one before Lewis' contract runs out. Marvin will be a D-coordinator again very soon. I would bet he will be Bill Cowher's 1st interview after taking his next head coaching gig. That will be next year or 2010.

Man, what happened to Collier just sucks bad. It just seems that all professional athletes and entertainers have become targets now. If it was me, I would never leave my house except to go to work.

mose...yeah, the Chase won't last forever. A lot more drug related stories to rip on in the NFL.

I will Fed-Ex Bill a one-way ticket to Jax right now!

Collier was shot 14 times, all in the groin area. Someone sent a hell of a message. Agreed on never leaving home. You can get anything delivered. Anything? Yes, anything.

Nice write up Hanny...it seems only the regular Joe is held accountable for his actions these days.
Politicians, sports figures, celebrities and people with friends in high places seem to skate off scot free or get "bailout" plans to absolve them of their sins.

...Yet, us citizens are expected to be upstanding and honorable or face the music?

Ever hear of mun*kie see mun*kie doo?

...Goes to show Charles Barkley was absolutely correct in stating they are not role models(there are exceptions of course, Elton Brand for one)but the nightly bad news seems to love the tabloid type headlines like these a whole lot more...
Problem is, we (and especially our children) still look up to these guys due to their high profiles. Too bad honor is a lost art, the country could use a healthy dose of it.

Perhaps that's something that Goodell can look into ? God knows the NFL likes to squeeze as much publicity as it can out of a conflict in order to keep itself in the public eye.

If you're interested I'm now doing stuff elsewhere ? And I've provided you with a direct link to some of those. Just click on the text below to view. As usual I'll look forward to reading your comments. Chimin out pal !

Bleed...you said it, brother. I wonder if I stop paying my mortgage right now if there will be any bailout money left to pay it off for me?

Is my boy, Vic Mackey, keeping the streets safe out there? He's my role model...lol
