NASCAR drivers come and go. To hang around in this sport you have to be either, talented, rich, or related to the King. You would think that talent alone would be enough to keep a driver in a racecar. Yet, we all know good drivers who aren't racing, or they're not in a ride that their talent would warrant. On the other hand, we see some unguided missles out there every week, too.
A few people have been asking me where driver so-and-so is now. So, I've put together a list of drivers who aren't racing in a major NASCAR series right now. Everyone on the list has raced in one of the three major series in the last decade. Some are more talented than some other gainfully employed drivers. Some are not. I need you, the insightful reader, to help us out. If you have any updated info on any of these drivers, please let us know. I'm sure that some of these guys, and gals, are still racing somewhere. Let us know what they're up to.
Aaron Fike....Tyler Walker....Shane Hmiel....Kevin Grubb........all of these guys are currently under indefinite suspension by NASCAR for drug issues. Hmiel is banned for life. I know all of these guys except Grubb are racing somewhere right now. Where at?
America's Got Talent....
Bill Lester....Jeremey Mayfield....Steve Grissom....Tim Fedewa....Steve Park....Danny O'Quinn....Michael Jourdain....Christian Fittipaldi....Buckshot Jones....Andy Santerre....Glen Allen Jr....Lyndon Amick....Kenny Hendrick....Rich Bickle....Trevor Boys....Boston Reid....Joey Clanton....Blake Feese........Have you seen any of these guys lately?
If you have any info on any of these drivers, let us know. If you have a driver to add to this list, please feel free to do so.
I'd heard Mark Martin say a few weeks ago that his son's focus has moved away from racing, which was part of his own decision to return to the full-time Hendricks ride.
David Newton published an article on Jeremy Mayfield just yesterday. http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/nasca r/cup/columns/story?columnist=newto n_david&page=InsideTheHauler
I'm sad to see Danny O'Quinn has gotten lost in the shuffle, and Todd Kluever too.
Hanahan- Cool tune I see you got it working and all the drivers in question as to where they are are doing fine runnin shine honeing their skills for when they can actually use them on a track thirsty anyone ?
I had just thought of Jason Jarrett last night when the announcers were calling out all the Jasons on the field. Everybody can't be a Dale, JR. so they all might have realized it!
RA6AN...my favorite ragan fan...and not just because you're the only one I know...lol.
I heard that Matt Martin was going to quit driving to concentrate on school. Something about that just seems fishy to me. I gotta believe that there is more to that story.
I thought O'Quinn was a great guy, and a decent driver. Hope to see him back in a major series.
ty....I thought I heard something about Lester. Guess it's just like when he was in CTS, the only time they showed him on TV was for a caution.
He's a great guy, also. He used to be an analyst on a race show. I think it was on Comcast Sports. He was great. He needs to be in the announce booth every week.
Athens...I haven't heard his name in a while. When he was racing, I would listen to him on the scanner. You would hear DJ telling him what to do, and Ned would be spotting for him. Great family.
Tyler Waler (showed Carl Edwards how to do the back flips) is employed by and races for Kasey Khane.
Matt Martin made a public statement that his Dad is an embarrassement to himself and the family. After Mark went with DEI, Matt said he was over the whole racing thing. I heard Mark say that he was glad Matt quit so he could concentrate on himself and his racing. That is why I don't like Mark Martin (well, one of the reasons why).
Justin Labonte, Jason Jarrett, and Terry Labonte are going dirt racing somehwere.
Jeremy Mayfield did an overseas tour for our troups and they love him. That is all I know.
Hey, vol....thanks for all the info. I knew Tyler was racing dirt sprint cars in Cali, but I didn't know that he still drove for Kasey. While researching this post, I saw a quote from him, "I want to say sorry to all of the NASCAR fans whom won't ever see me there again. I love dirt and am glad tobe back on it." Sounds as if he's not coming back to NASCAR and their drug tests.
The Iraq trip was the last I heard of Jeremy, also. He still has a lot of fans, and they are hoping that Penske takes him back. Ain't gonna happen!
Ahh..Yes... Justin Labonte and Jason Jarrett. Last I saw them they were on Jarrett & Labonte stock car racing by Codemasters. From 2000. Guess the made enough off the game...lol..
You know it has to be hard to try to meet up with your fathers succes in anything. And the ladies. Well Erin wasnt that good..So says Ray.Lol..sorry had to put that in..
