Am I the only one surprised by this? Why keep him? His best days are obviously behind him.
As I have called for since last October, I say start Kellen Clemens! You don’t know how well he can do yet, because you haven’t given him a fair chance. Filling in for an injury does not count.
The Jets did draft him in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft to replace Pennington if the season did not go the way they hoped. Well, Pennington miraculously saved his job by leading the Jets to a 9-7 year, and making it to the playoffs, where they lost in the Wild Card Round to New England.
This past season, Clemens saw some time, but not enough to get a solid idea of how well he can do in the pros.
I have a couple suggestions to throw out at the Mangenius, Eric Mangini, the Snitch of Snitches.
First, you could trade him to Chicago for their second-round draft pick and Cedric Benson. Benson needs to start over somewhere new, and Chad ain’t doing the Jets any good by sinking up the joint.
Or…
You could reasonably ask for the Vikings second-round pick and TE, Visanthe Shiancoe or Jim Kleinsasser; each could easily be a filler-in for OL on occasion if needed.

I was born and raised in the city of Pittsburgh, PA, so naturally I am a die-hard fan of the Pens, Buccos, and Steelers. Since Pittsburgh basketball is long gone, my favorite team in the NBA is the Orlando Magic. Please leave a comment on my blog, I love feedback. My blog is fun, and I enjoy writing it, and I hope that you will enjoy reading it! Thanks!
