Those numbers are incredible! That means that the country thinks that the Lakers have more than twice as good a chance to win it all than the #1 overall seed, Boston.
These are just numbers, mind you, but they speak the truth!
Tonight’s game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals is an extremely pivotal game for both teams. They have both shown that they can win on the road in this series, Detroit pulling off Game 2 and Boston doing likewise in Game 3.
The situation may be this: If Boston wins, this is most likely gonna be a 5-game series. However, if Detroit wins, this could just as easily turn into a 7-game series. Ya never know what exactly is gonna happen. That’s why you gotta watch this, tonight at 8:00 on ESPN.
The Pistons need to get one man unparticular involved early: Rodney Stuckey. They say he’s a carbon copy of Chauncey Billups, and if that’s true, it would be nice to have two of them on the same floor at once now, wouldn’t it? That’s the key for Detroit; get Stuckey into it early.
The key for Boston has to be as simple as this: Get the ball to Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Ray Allen has been way too inconsistent for me to trust him in this big o####ame. He scored (in order of games) 9, 25, and 11. I don't know what to expect from him. However, in this series, KG averages 24 points per game, and Pierce averages 19.7 points per game. If you ask me, that’s the recipe for success to focus on. Rondo averages 11 ppg, which isn't bad against Billups.
I think Detroit will win Game 4, but not by much, by the skin of their teeth, to be more specific. Detroit-88, Boston-84.
If you are the Celtics, and you are coming off your first home loss since March 21, it's time to worry.
They had a comfort-cushion in the playoffs, only having to play 3 games on the road each series, and 4 at home. They hadn't lost in Boston this post-season until Thursday.
Now, Detroit, who is 5-1 at home this post-season, and 4-3 on the road, should be incredibly comfortable having won Game 2. Now, there is a huge margin of error for them. Maybe not huge, but sizeable enough that they don't absolutely have to win another game in Boston.
Chauncey didn't hold back on Thursday; he didn't look injured,s o mayb now, he can leave the leg muscle sprain behind him.
The Pistons should win tonight's game, but as we have seen, not everything that should happen has happened. We'll see, but I pick the Pistons to win tonight, and the Celtics to win Monday.
After last night's 103-97 loss to the Detroit Pistons in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, is there reason for panic in Boston now?
I'm gonna get killed for flip-flopping twice in two days, but yes, there is reason for pani in Boston.
In case you haven't heard, which I'm sure somewhere you have, the Boston Celtics have not yet won a road game, and their first home loss was last night, to the Pistons.
So, hypothetically, Detroit should take this series in 5 or 6 games. I still have my doubts about both teams, but that scenario is the most likely to happen in the next week and a half.
Ray Allen had the breakout game we've been waiting for, and I, for one, saw it coming. Yet, despite his 25 point performance, as well as KG's 24 and Pierce's 26, the Celtics still lost.
Wow, this win speaks volumes for the Pistons; as they say "Actions speak louder than words" Good thing nobody talked beore the game! (cough, cough, Jameer Nelson, cough, cough) Grrrrrr.......
Anyways, the Pistons now have theoretically 2 easy wins at the Palace, and a real chance to go up 3-1 on the favorites.
Do I think it will happen exactly like that? Nope, not exactly.
I think that the Pistons, even though they are a veteran team, may slack off a bit, get cocky having beaten the Celtics in their house, but will still find a way to pull off game 3. Game 4 I'm not so sure about. The Celtics have to win that game because even if they win Game 5 @ Boston, they can't afford to be in a elimination game heading abck to Detroit. Either game, 3 or 4, is a must-win for the Celtics. They do not need both, just one.
The C's better win, I got money on their @$$es!!!
Now, for the West Finals. The Lakers are palying Game 2from LA tonight, looking to go up 2-0 on the defending champion San Antonio Spurs, after an improbable win on Wednesday coming back from a 20-point-deficit (I believe it was 20?). Kobe had a sensational second-half, scoring 92.6 percent of his points in the final two quarters.
"I can just turn it on whenever" is what he had to say in the post-game press conference.
Hmm. Well, ya can't argue with him, can you? It would be like debating religion to a scientologist, to be blunt.
Gasol and Kobe should be lightin' it up all night, and I'm not gonna gurantee anything this time, or make any wild predictions like a blowout, but I don't think that the Lakers will let it stay that close for that long tonight. I'll say, a final of 99-87.
Thanks for reading! Have a good Memorial Day Weekend!
Well, I kknow it's only been one game, but I have already lost all hope in the pick I made before the Eastern Conference Finals began, which was that the Pistons would beat the Celtics in 6 games.
Whoops. It happens to the best of us.
Well, tonight is game 2, and I expect Boston to win in blowout fashion, with KG and Pierce once again combining for 40-50 points. Rondo will have a sensational night, and even if Ray Allen doesn't have the game we have all been waiting for, he'll still do his part in a win, with a final score of 96-76.
Chauncey admitted on Wednesday at Pistons practive that he was not 100%, and some of his teammates agreed.
My suggestion: Bench Chauncey until Game 3 back in Detroit, and start Stuckey instead. Here are Stuckey's and Billups's stats form Game 1:
See what I mean? It may not be by much, but with my (expert) calculations, if Stuckey continued to play at the level he did, and was in as long as Billups was, his stats would have been:
