Hey, Greenie like your picks cept' yankees as the wild card in the AL.
in the NL i feel the dodgers will have a great 2nd half with Torre more comfortable and the general weakness of the division,
Always nice to have a starting point to start discussion about playoffs. For these to happen the following have to happen: The Rays have to decide if they are the team that won seven in a row or the team that lost seven in a row. Very difficult to over come a stretch where nearly your entire teams stops hitting.
The Mets like Tampa have to decide which team they are. Are they the team that has won 10 in a row or are they the stumbling bumbling awful team they were at the beginning of the season. My vote is for the second half team that wins but we shall see.
The Cubs have maybe the biggest obstacle to overcome. One hundred years of futility. No matter what happens, how good a Cubs team looks something always happens to keep them from getting to or winning the World Series. This is year 101, they just arent going to do even after getting Harden.
People like to pick the Cardinals to win things just because they have Albert Pujols. That may be enough but if Milwaukee gets good performances from Sheets and Sabbathia and some hitting the Cards (or the Cubs) could be watching from home instead of playing in October.
The Giants? No way in hell do they make the playoffs this year or next year or the next five years at least. I dont care how well Lincecum pitches, right now Zito stinks, their entire infield should be collecting social security instead of playing and their outfield isnt too far behind. Forget em they are done.
The Angels Red Sox and White Sox all should do just fine and make the playoff unless something catastrophic happens.
For the Angels if something happens
aero13- I'm not jumping ship or anything, but I do believe in the Rays now. Take care! Thanks for always stopping by and commenting!
tiger- Great to see you again! Will you be back blogging by the NFL season? I miss having you around here! Yanks could definitely overtake the Rays, but I just think that the Rays pitching is too good to collapse because of their lack-luster line-up. Take care!
dnash- All terrific points! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It appears your comment got cut off at the end due to it's length, which annoyed me because you had some great points! The Giants pick is probly a homer pick, but hey, that's why they play the games! Take care!
Im gonna go out on a limb here and say the Cardinals take the central. I just dont like the cubs again this year. Maybe becuase im a cardinals fan but i just think we got this...
mike i agree with most of your picks . the only 2 i amalittle lery about is the wild card in the al east and leaving out the brewers in the wildcard from the nlcentral. i think the yankees are going to find a way of getting in somehow they always do.
