In last night's epic beatdown of the Yankees at the hands of my beloved Pittsburgh Pirates, the Buccos may have saved their season, and this may be a turning point. The Yanks were 6 games above .500, while the Pirates were 4 games under the even mark.
The Yankees can't be happy about losing to the team who everyone laughs at. I' on the other hand, couldn't be happier.
Joe Girardi repeatedly stated that we (as in the Yankees) "stunk" You're tellin' me!
However, we got no comment from the only guy I really wanted to hear from, Mr. Hank Steinbrenner. I was just waiting to hear him say something outrageous, like "WE LOST TO WHO?! A BUNCH ON SCRUBS?!" Never got anything, though. Oh well.
Derek Jeter and A-Rod seemed the most unpleased of the bunch, as Rodriguez mispronounced the name of the pitcher he just lost to. That says something. Or not.
But, the Pirates have successfully defended their ballpark, and will do it again tonight and tomorrow, and th next day, and the next day, and the next day.

What a great comeuppance for the Yankees. They were thoroughly deserving of that proverbial beatdown handed to them by the Pirates.
Their's was a totally lackluster performance. And Girardi is now proving that he's better at > instilling confidence into younger inexperienced players than he is with a bunch of overpaid primadonna's.
See my latest post titled To Serve But To Do So With Distinction And Pride ! Let me know what you think as to the merits of the piece as and when you're ready ? I'll look forward to reading your comments.

Mike, the Bucs' future is looking up if you sign both Tanner Scheppers and Justin Wilson of the NCAA baseball champion Fresno State Bulldogs. Wilson competes like a mutha; he went 8 innings on three days' rest and throttled the Georgia bats all game long. In the national championship game, no less. Scheppers has the makings of a big-time stud (but he has to get healthy first).
rooting for the pirates to sweep the rays this weekend, red sox fan, rays took 3 games from the marlins, hope the same fate not in the cards for the bucs!

I am Mike Greenspire and I am a sports blogger for FOX Sports and I love the NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, and NASCAR! I was born and raised in the city of Pittsburgh, PA, so naturally I am a die-hard fan of the Pens, Buccos, and Steelers. Since Pittsburgh basketball is long gone, my favorite team in the NBA is the Orlando Magic. Please leave a comment on my blog, I love feedback. My blog is fun, and I enjoy writing it, and I hope that you will enjoy reading it! Thanks!
