Type-0 Personalities Rally Behind Belichick
Feb 19, 2008 | 4:40AM | report this

FOXBOROUGH, Mass.  New England Patriots' head coach Bill Belichick yesterday broke his silence on the allegations of improper filming of opponents that marred the team's 2007-08 season, saying the last film of another football team he had seen was "Knute Rockne, All American."

Belichick:  "That's an incredibly stupid question, but I'll try not to answer it anyway."

"In my entire coaching career, I've never seen another team's practice film, family vacation film, or wedding film," Belichick said to reporters who asked about allegations by former Patriots' video assistant Matt Walsh that he had videotaped several house pets belonging to St. Louis Rams' players prior to Super Bowl XXXVI, and sold the film to "America's Funniest Home Videos."

"I want you to go out there and win one for the Gipper so we'll have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs."

Belichick has been diagnosed with Type-0 personality disorder, a psychological condition he contracted while an assistant coach with the New York Jets.  Type A personalities are high-achieving, impatient, and aggressive, Type B personalities are patient, relaxed, and easy-going, and Type-0 personalities have zero personality measured by either the Celsius or Fahrenheit scale.

"A Type-0 personality is the sort of guy who will refuse to buy an expensive bouquet for his wife on Valentine's Day, then wonder why she gets upset when he tells her how much money they saved," says Dr. Philip Reif of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

"All you Type-0 personalities out there, be careful driving home tonight."

Efforts to increase awareness of the disease have been largely unsuccessful, because no comedian has been willing to adopt the cause as his own.  "Type-0 personalities are a hazard on the roads late at night coming home from comedy clubs," says Mike McMahon, who does stand-up in the Boston area.  "They usually don't 'get' jokes until an hour after last call."

Haha true

I believe BB when he says he has never seen practice film. However, some people weren't made for the spotlight, and BB is one of the most awkward and nonchalant coaches ever.

I can't believe Fox Sports lets idiots like this write articles for them. This is just beyond stupid, just because he doesn't kiss the reporters backside before every game doesn't make him type any personality. It just makes him smart as anything anyone says is so blown out of proportion that it would be used by the other team as billboard material.
Because a person is smart does not make him a bad person. I wish all these so called sports writers would be held to a higher standard!!!!

Uh, it's a joke. I'm just a blogger (and a Pats fan), not a Fox Sportswriter.

I got the joke and thought it was funny.... Guess I don't have a type "O" personality. Thank goodness for that - I was worried.

The Patriots should fire BB since he's tainted the teams accomplishments.

Maybe he can come coach the beras instead.... we be happy to take him.

Bel-di/k and his merry band of perfect losers should just be drawn, quartered and hung out to dry. The entire cheatriot organization got precisely what it deserved - and there is more to come. Nice job, new englund idiots.

I hated living there from 85-92, and I have a term I use to describe you dolts. Acronym is P.S.M.B - stands for Puritanistic Small-Minded B/as-tards.

Now you all are just LOSERS, and sore, disillusioned cheating losers at that.

Stick that in your bel-####/k pipe and smoke it.

Type O, for A.zz-h.O

Did your mommy drive or did you ride your bike when you went away....cause you sound as if you're about 14 years old. By the way - DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT"!

As for Bill B - he may not be your cup of tea - but we LOVE him. He's our Coach! GO BILL - Go Patriots!!!!!!!

Man! the hate! Get real people, Gerbil is funning. So the Pats "cheated", so what. Time to get over it and move on. Don't take humor, even pointed humor so seriously. AND iffen you don't like what you read, don't read, it's as simple as that!
Nice, Gerbil. Fuzz

no!!!! this is not as simple as they cheated now lets move on. its not like an individual doing HGH for personal achievement but this had an effect upon teams, seasonal outcome, paydays,
championships and other things. and its only patriot fans that say this. all season long they felt that their favorite team was just head over heels better than the others and cant face it that this success could be as a result of cheating. its a disgrace to the entire league. for their dishonesty now the NFL is being brought before the senate and possibly investigated. this is not as simple as one or two players doing something but this smells of the entire organization. and if saying just move on isnt enough, they also say, "well all the other teams cheated as well" we dont know that!!! but we know the patriots have..its a disgrace to the entire NFL.

What an ####.. It just shows how many that fox sports are associated with.. The only person i think more ignorant than this guy is Chris meyers. Mr huh huh huh i kid be cause i care!! If BB leaves every fan of the nfl would want him to coach thier team.. Even if he knew the plays it should not stop your playmakers from making them. And glorydays why dont you learn how to post comments instead of being an ignorant #### and double posting... And i can spell it all out in preschool for you if need be!

For the record, I like Belichick too, having suffered through Rod Rust (1-15). He's just doing his job, maybe should have stuck with the Polaroid instant pictures instead of upgrading to video. Met him on the local lacrosse field once, seems like a nice guy to me, but then that may be because I have no personality either.

HA!

Funny stuff. It's nice to get a simple laugh when everything is idle in the NFL. It's the calm before the free-agency storm. It gets wild and crazy in about a week!

...lindadito & Bosox1 ... Lighten up. You'll probably both "get it" about 2:00 A.M. when more than likely you'll awake from your sleep with a snicker.

D-GloryBags:

Your nickname for New Englanders is kinda bumpy, don't you think? Even the acronym b.l.o.w.s.

Were you there for 7 years for Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth, MIT, Brandeis or in one of the worlds most highly accredited hospitals being studied for the effects of syphilis on the brain?

The best part of watching the Pats is the 5th quarter - we bet on who will be able to most closely match Bill's press answers. All of us win.

A bundle of warm personality, perhaps not. Keep in mind the feeling is mutual when it comes to most of the media, so who can blame him for that? We will all stand by him until the very end and wouldn't have him any other way - all hail the shroud.

Since this "spygate" was brought to the surface during the beginning of the 2007 Season, all the NE fans have said things like "It's a non-issue, everyone does it, JUST MOVE ON,etc."

Well here it is with the season over, (NE lost SB!) and Spygate is definately "moving on"...Moving on to congressional hearings! And it looks as if this will not go away any time soon. If everything is resolved before the 2008 season starts I will be amazed.

Yes NE has alot of articles still being written about them, some would confuse this with being the most famous team, but they are merely the most Infamous team with a cloud of questions surrounding their prior Super Bowl "wins" and "accomplishments/records". "Tainted Titles" they're now called.

Goodell has no problems enforcing harsh punishments to players he dislikes over stupid things such as the celebration penalties. He penalizes T.O. if Terrell so much as sneezes on the field. (Come on, I mean he fined T.O. for holding up a TINY towel DURING A COMMERCIAL BREAK!) He also SUSPENDED Wade Wilson (QB COACH!)for taking medicince to help with his E.D. (as if that needed to be brought public and humiliate the man on top of the Ridiculous Suspension!) If I never have to see or listen to Belicheat OR Roger Goodell again, it will be too soon. They both need to G-O , period.

Oops! Am I going to get fined or something for Questioning the NFL's integrity like the Raven's players did??!!!!!!!

Don’t worry sports fans!

After a long and arduous 2007-08 season the outcome brought justice to the story which plagued the campaign from the start. I can remember game after game… watching the Patriots and praying for the loss that would remove them from the “best team ever” conversation. I left my couch every weekend feeling disgruntled and angry. Let’s face it, had the Patriots defeated the Giants in the Super Bowl they would no doubt be the greatest team in NFL history. Stats/19-0/perfect record vs. playoff teams and Super Bowl Champions... everything that the Patriots did this year would have made it impossible to argue against them. Imagine history being marred by the greatness of a team that was caught cheating. I heard one of my friends say “the Giants saved my youth” and I couldn’t help but to agree. In the end the New England loss was “SO DEVASTATINGLY GREAT” (when measuring greatness) that the team can’t even be spoke of in the same breath as the 72 Dolphins or even the other “1 loss” teams that own championships.

In the end... the punishment fit the crime and I think it looks good on Belichick and the Patriots. They will only be remembered for the 1 game they lost and their stumble at immortality.

Thanks to the Giants for saving my youth.
