Thoughts on Marbury expresses support for Vick
Aug 22, 2007 | 3:11PM | report this

A response to Marbury expresses support for Vick Once again another over-paid, over hyped professional athlete has to open their mouth and expose their ignorance. It comes as no suprise that Stephon Marbury would be in support of Michael Vick.  Marbury has demonstrated time and again that he is a selfish., immature, egotistical ####. This is why, despite his enormous talent, he has been traded from team to team throughout his career. Comparing dog fighting to hunting???? At least we are not pitting the deers against each other to satisfy our own egos. Any intelligent hunter will inform you that they have tremendous respect for the prey that they hunt and for nature itself. The only thing clueless idiots like Marbury and Vick respect are the fools who try to satisfy their huge egos.

Selfish? How are you going to call Stephon Marbury selfish. He is one of a few athletes that sells good looking, great quality shoes, at decent prices. You know why he does this? So other kids do not have go without, and be riduculed for not wearing the most expensive shoe. How is that selfish?.....

All of you people have your own thoughts on Vick and his troubles. You are a #### to think that if he was not a star this would not be news. Some of you people wish you had thier money. I do believe he was wrong but a lot of people fight dogs but you don't hear a lot about it.

Vick made a mistake. He will answer to the public just like the rest of us would. The difference is when you are sucessful the more enemies you get. The hard part is always trying to figure out who your enemy is. When you are a public figure it is hard being in the media daily. People are always wanting you and your time. I say Mike keep your head up. Walk through this fire and you will come out on the other end.

And yet another jack ####, professional athlete inserts foot in mouth.

Michael Vick is a terrible human being, if you can call him that. Maybe he'll be cell mates with Pacman Jones.

Tallen2133-So Stephon only makes 5 million instead of 10 million on his shoe deal-what a humanitarian-I am sure the Nobel Peace Prize people have him on speed dial as we speak.

Seadog- If you want to be a superstar-fame, fortune and media exposure are the price you pay for the huge salary. Best not to be hiding skeletons in your closet or obviously not having the discipline to control your off field actions.

Giantlobos-sometimes I belive Vick is what comes out the other end.

PF-Amen brother-Didn't Starbury learn ANYTHING from the reactions to Clinton Portis's comments?

"Comparing dog fighting to hunting???? At least we are not pitting the deers against each other to satisfy our own egos. Any intelligent hunter will inform you that they have tremendous respect for the prey that they hunt and for nature itself."

You see, this is where hunters are delusional. When you stalk a deer that is doing nothing but munching on foliage, how is that showing respect? I have hunted a few years with great success. However, I grew tired of it very quick. One, it wasn't that big of a challenge to me. I have great hand/eye coordination and can stealth with the best of anyone. Second, I wasn't going up against a hostile enemy. In REAL sports, your adversary (the other team or player) has the same goal in mind as you. Can you say that about hunting? No! Does the deer even know the game is on? No. Yeah, great respect you have. But, of course, it is not done for the hunter's ego, right?

Having said this, I think he should go to jail for RUNNING AN ILLEGAL GAMBLING RING. That is it. This moral judgement of how he treats his dogs is blown out of proportion. I did lose a little respect for him for doing so because I would never treat an animal like that, but I can't drum up the emotion that I see others have towards him.

Yes the deer knows the game is on-they are stalked by predators other than man on a 24/7 basis. And most respectable hunters tend to act in a much more humane fashion to their prey than Michael
Vick did with his dogs. At least when you hunt it is a clean, quick kill.

To be truthful it is not about how Vick treated his dogs-it was his total and complete lack of caring for their very well being and existence. The dogs only purpose was to prove to others what a Badass Big Dog Michael Vick is. If he cares this little for these animals it makes you wonder how much consideration he has for his teammates? That to me is the real issue here-is their an ounce of compassion for anyone beside himself in Michael Vicks warped little brain?

That is just stupid. You can get into the heads of deer, who should know better than to get in the line of a bullet or arrow. Nice.

I see that you have convinced yourself that you are so humane by making the kill quick. I ain't buyin' it and neither is a lot others who also see hunting as unnecessary and inhumane. I would have more respect if you would use your bare hands and go against a deer, turkey, or any other animal for that fact. But no, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A GUN OR BOW! Again, this is for the hunter's ego. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you want to think Vick was wrong for killing the animals then you have to think hunting is wrong period. It doesn't matter how you kill an animal. You killed it, that's it.

Okay-mdeill-I may be stupid but you are just plain old ignorant, at least judging by your comments. Have you ever heard of natural selection or survival of the fittest-maybe if you dropped the remote and READ something you just might. Deer are instinctively on guard for any threat and have the ability to react and evade very quickly-this is how they survive.

I am not advocating the humanity of hunting-but there should be no question that a quick kill is much more mericiful than two animals chewing each other to death. Any person who condones or participates in this kind of behavior has obviously lost touch with their humanity.

P.S. How did we get on this subject anyhow-I thought this was about what a total ignorant, pompous horses hind end that Stephon Marbury was making of himself by defending Vick with his ridiculous comments?

Debashi-are you a vegetarian-if not I don't want to hear about killing animals.

I'm just sayin' people try to defend hunting saying how humane they do it. It doesn't matter. I'm not a vegetarian. People just seem to make to big of a deal about dog fighting that's all.

Well, from the comments that i read,it is easy to understand that after black people being taken captured, kidnapped by europeans from Africa,we shouldn't have any african culture residues left.It is common for african people to enjoy dogs
fighting even us african americans

Wanga-Sorry but the white guilt trip does not work on me-and I would hope that you are more civilized and educated than your primordial ancestors. If you want to fight dogs-then go back to Africa and live in a grass hut. Myself I don't want to go back to Ireland and live in a shed. I personally enjoy living in this country and try to abide by the laws and morals that dictate our civilization
