in all of his years as the Cavs GM, Danny Ferry has not been able to land the Robin style sidekick to LBJ's Batman. who knows what could have happened if they actually made a serious push for someone with real star quality. i mean really...he pulled of a huge deal that swung 4 players into Cleveland...but none of them were the right player.
LBJ needs someone who can handle business when or if he's on the bench...whether in a shooting slump or in foul trouble...or just to plain old make them a serious threat. who else is there to seriously consider when drawing up a defensive strategy against Cleveland? Coach Mike Brown has never showed the confidence in Joe Smith to give him more shots...even tho he averaged near 60% FG for the series. once again...Cleveland had no one else to consistently challenge Boston's defense, and so they lost. Boston, even with the homecourt, could barely pull off the victory against a team that should not have even been in their class. If i'm LBJ, i have to look at that and consider the possibilities. Danny Ferry's big trade was nothing more than sheer desperate. Delonte West is not a bad player to keep around...those guys can learn each other...but guys like Damon Jones, and Eric Snow, Sasha Pavlovic...come on Mr Ferry...what are these guys amounting too besides wasted paychecks? of all the guys to package in a deal...ALL of those could have been shipped out to pay for one guy....anyone who could create a mismatch. my goodness!
Now, with the summer free to go fishing (LOL), LBJ has to take serious thought as to whether Ferry is even capable of getting him the help he needs. Ben Wallace is a huge disappointment, and has been ever since leaving Detroit. Wally World has never been that guy you can count on on both ends. Two years is a long time to play for a team that seemingly has no chance to contend in the future. Danny ferry needs to go back to the drawing board to find a better way to make LBJ comfortable...cuz Jay-Z is laying back in the cut secretly wooing him, and patiently waiting. What are the chances that Ferry can come stronger than that???
Maybe the problem is Batman won't allow Robin to share the ball? I remember when Hughes was signed and the Cavs fans said Ferry had pulled the scoop of the century. After leaving Hughes said it's good to be gone because everything runs thru Lebron, there are no plays in the playbook that doesn't and he couldn't help when it was only Lebron free lancing out there.
Nique... Larry Hughes should've realized that was the deal when he got there. if he didn't, then that might be the coach or GM's fault. there should've been a very clear directive given to him that it was LBJ's team and he was only brought in to serve in the role of Robin. Pippen handled that role very well in Chi-Town, and he developed into the most notorious Robin in the league
Storm are you going to answer your Knick questions? I sent them to you twice now. I wanted to lead off with you since the Knicks are about the most intriguing story there is of the non playoff teams this year.
Chicago used the triangle. Its a lot easier to be Robin in the triangle.
Dont think "The Chosen One" is ready for another great sidekick. Ilgauskus throughout the Cavs/Celts series had moments in which he was consistant. Instead of going back to him, Lebron chose to try and be the hero instead of taking advantage of it.
Big Z disappeared....bad feet...bad back....KG brought him outside and torched him...LBJ needs HELP...in the form on NY/Brooklyn in a few years...hes gone...unless Clevelandd gets him some real help....not Wallace, Smith, Sczerbiak, and West....LMAO....u call that serious help?....
