For the first time in NCAA tournament history, all four 1 seeds in the tourney advance to the Final Four. Kansas (with a little zebra assistance), Memphis (starting to make FTs), UCLA (just looking solid), UNC (Hansbrough is a man's man) all went through their respective regions and played pretty dominating basketball in the process of advancing to San Antonio. Does this make it more exciting to watch? Or do we all still want to see some sort of under dog in the Final Four? As it stands now, any team that wins it won't really be a surprise because, well, they were # 1 seeds. So does this history excite you as a fan, or is it a piece of history you could do without?.....
I personally am not a fan of all 1 seeds advancing for one simple reason.......screwed my bracket up big time!...never happened before...and as balanced as the college game was this year....i never seen it coming....i picked UCLA and UNC to get this far, but not Memphis or Kansas...ill justify....Memphis shoots FTs terribly, they play in the weak Conference USA, and their one big game of the year was a tough loss to Tennessee (lost because of missed FTs)...well i guess a weak schedule doesnt matter when u have the talent they have...they turned it up which a lot of college kids arent able to do...congrats to the Tigers and Mr. Rose...Kansas was a team i liked at the start of the season...they kinna fizzled towards the end of the season...so i didnt think they were mentally ready for the run...WRONG!...they played well throughout the tourney...im always a fan of the underdog....never want all the heavyweights to be involved...hopefully these games will yield a lil more excitement then the games this weekend (mostly all blowouts)....but im a fan of the underdog shining thru...
it's all #### i say! Kansas had help in crucial possessions to make it to this point! that's all. but i also don't think Davidson would've given the Tar Heels any run cuz of the coach. he wasn't smart enough to realize that he had to run his main man Curry thru at least 3 screens to get open (like Indiana did for Reggie Miller). it's simple mathematics...Curry carried the team to this point...Kansas HAD to shut him down...that means in your shorts defense...which means counter with more screens and picks. DUH!!!
besides that...i like it i guess. Kansas is a more formiddable opponent for North Carolina, but the Tar Heels are playing on too high a level for a team that struggled against a 10 seed. UCLA is playing solid, but i'm gonna pick Memphis' defense over them I think that will prove to be the better matchup of the two...not that it matters, cuz NC is going all the way. If you ain't impressed with my man Tyler the Tar Heel yet....you better ask somebody!!!
