NBA what a game...
Mar 25, 2008 | 9:49AM | report this

Yesterdays post started it...and last nights games confirmed it...NBA is fantastic!

Why do I hear talk show and tv show hosts saying there is no hype or effort in the NBA games?  They may not be all emotional and squiggly like the college boys, but that is because they are grown #### men, they got different things on they mind.

But how about the intangables...the refs?  Last night the Suns got robbed with poor officiating.  Yes I know, it goes both ways, but sometimes the timing and magnitude of the calls creates more of a teater to the ol ballance...

What do you think GameStormers...about the NBA, the refs, the supposed lack of enthusiasm on a game time basis from the Pro's vs the Joe's errr the School Kidz!

Sound off...

BklynStyle...da SG is battle-ready

first let me say that anyone trying to downplay the effort of the NBA players is seriously generalizing the entire sport. naturally, you have your guys in EVERY sport, who don't put forth their best (for whatever reason)...but this season is a testament to the huge efforts that teams are putting forward in the never-ending persuit to be called the game's champions.
i mean come on...the race in the west is plain ol' sick and blazin hot right now! how can anyone not see that? the Hornets are holding down the top seed by 1 thousandth of a percentage point over the Lakers. to those of you who are mathematically inept...that means they're in that spot by the skin of their teeth. even the Nuggets (9th place) are only a half game behind the Warriors for the 8th and final spot.
Last night's game was a showcase of a problem that will always plague sports...refs are human, and thus will make many errors and questionable calls. i think it's fair to say they dropped the ball last night, right on the Suns' pinky toe...and in a race as tight as in the west, that may go a long way. i mean, 1st seed and 6th seed are separated by 1 game. now that's crazy!
but on the other hand, it was still a really good game, and a preview to what we can expect in the playoffs. for the first time in years, we can't really call who will even make it there...let alone win it all.

NY Knicks in 2020!!!! LOL

It's always going to be that element of human error
when it comes to sports...So to take that element out of the equation simply put a good ol' fashion
butt whoopin on the opponent and there is nothing
else to decide...Of course we all no the that the
sports industry is in business to make money so there are phantom calls so that the larger sports
market teams get the "timely" calls...So to all the
officials in major sports you are a necessary evil
in the whole scheme of things but I wish it was'nt
so...

the NBA is way better to watch than a college game...the pace of the game is far more exciting than college games...there are some games when the energy is lacking, but they play an 82 game season....concentration will wane from time to time...thats jus human nature....and refs suck!...period...so the only way to make sure they dont affect the game is to not make the refs a factor...kinna hard in the league...but thats the only way...other than that...DEAL WITH IT...cuz it aint gonna change....

The NBA is the best baskeball in the world and since it is the best basketball in the world the referee's should be the best...The League must come up with a way to hold the Referee's accountable for any game altering calls that are
obviously wrong or bad calls...One way would put
a review Committee together of former Refs & Players who sit down and review a game in which a
bad call changed the out come o####ame. If the committee finds that the call was wrong then the
League will suspend that Referee crew for a (5) game rotation without pay...this will lighten they're wallet as well as make that crew more of
a cohesive unit when it comes to correcting a "iffy" call...This just a thought, but something must be done to make the Ref's accountable...
