should be present when homerun number 756* is hit.
There is only one guest who really should be present - there is only one person who
directly shares the spotlight with the ball striker.
Barry Bonds* should pause at home plate, after circling the bases and be greet by
his chief benefactor and comrade in crime -----
GREG ANDERSON, who should be let out on parole for the occasion - that would be a fitting salute to what Barry Bonds* has done to baseball. It would put his record into the proper context, haviing a convict there to greet him.
That's great stuff GAFF................I always put the asterisk before *Barry Bonds name. Not because he used the clear or the cream, but because before he became a bobble head he was still a pompous, egotistical jerk. Who much like his cousin Reggie Jackson thought he was above all of the fan-interaction and treated it as a business.
Gaff-I've never liked Bonds. He is an ####. But the real problem behind all of this is Bud Selig, the owners, and MLB. They forced Faye Vincent out way back when and the league has been mismanaged severly ever since. Unfortunately, Bonds is just the poster boy for steroid use and is absorbing most of the criticism, when it should be Selig getting the brunt of it for looking the other way while it was rampant in the '90s. Of course, if they hadn't screwed up the '94 season, they wouldn't have had to worry so much about putting butts in the seats.
We all know that Willie Mays will be present when Bonds breaks the record because it's his godfather and he loves Barry. I have no problem with Aaron not being there only because he has never been one to travel around the country and Bonds doesn't have a problem with it. The commissioner should be there because he represents baseball and should be there for any major historical milestone being broken. Personally I could care less if the clueless commissioner is in San Francisco when the record is broken. It will create more contraversy for himself if he doesn't show up than Barry Bonds that will follow him forever.
You have obviously been brainwashed by the media just like the majority of baseball fans. Bonds has never tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, but yet everyone has him guilty. What proof is there? The media and their sheep have tried and convicted Barrys Bonds without any evidence and it is unfair. The only reason that he is being raked over the coals is because of his attitude. No, he's not a media darling but you cannot call him a cheater until there is proof of cheating. And people seem to forget that Mark McGuire tested positive for an illegal substance not long after he broke the single season home run record. I don't hear anyone calling him a cheater. Also what is being overlooked is that steroids aren't going to make you a home run hitter. You have to have a good technique which Bonds does have and always did. He was hitting home runs when he was a skinny kid playing with the Pirates. If Barry Bonds was white he would be given the benefit of the doubt but as usual he is guilty until proven innocent.
Can we stop hearing the freakin race card when it comes to comments about Barry Bonds please. That is getting much older than hearing about his possible steroid use, which is also well played out. In case you haven't noticed he's about to break another black mans record.
There is no middle ground with Bonds, hate him or love him, he's the hardest out I've ever seen, hell of a ball player. Personally I don't like the guy, I feel he's a real classless act, and a bit of a whacko.
I did not want to expend the energy needed to deal with this foolish use of the race card, but you wiped away that silly argument in a very economical and well focused manner.
I appreciate the crystal clear logic of your statement.
